From what we've seen, it sounds like Bioware wants to keep everything under wraps until they are ready, and then bust down the doors with the reveal, giving us plenty to talk about and blowing every one away. I'm not sure they are planning on doing teasers before said reveal, otherwise I would have thought they would be doing so in very small ways. Instead, they've been really tight lipped about nearly everything.
Tight lipped is not the right word, they have been teasing us like crazy with all the tweets...
Teasing us with nothing. They've been wafting food aroma from an empty plate at starving people...

Yeah, that Witcher article is from Feb 04 about the March issue, the one everyone is wondering about is the March article for the April issue.
There was a fairly persistent rumour that it's the next Thief game.
I kinda doubt it's DA3. but we'll wait and see!
Ah yes I noticed too late. Sorry. Thanks for the heads up.
They'll keep their word and not reveal anything about the game, as there's still ME:C to go. Fine with me if it is going to be June then, as it coincides with my birthday.

My gut tells me they will unveil something at PAX, if that is a trailer, screenshot, teaser, ideas remains to be seen.
It would just strike me as very very strange to have your 2 main people on Dragon Age (Laidlaw and Darrah) go to PAX, which is mostly a fan convention, with a game coming out within the next year and then not say or show ANYTHING about it. Especially if DA3 is coming out this calendar year.

Seems very possible. Especially since PAX is around the second anniversary of DA II's release.

DA3 or not, does anyone know if their panel at PAX will be streaming live online???
I don't think it's been confirmed yet.

Mike Laidlaw: "Directly behind my desk there is a prototype being worked on that is very exciting. There’s another one 6 offices down. Both self-started. At a certain point in the project prototypes become rapid iterations of highly specific gameplay elements, rather than high-falutin’ ideas. So, yes. DAIII progress ahoy."
(I put all three tweets together).

*Name removed*: "I was wondering where DA3 would take place I was assuming Orlais but given the size of the war would you travel to other lands."
Mike Laidlaw: "Can't talk plot at this time, unfortunately. One of these days!"

Personally, I would be satisfied if they just announced, for sure, 100%, the consoles it will launch on, and the release date/window.

I do not understand all the words in English excuse me! If I understand correctly, there may be a trailer at PAX? But I thought the developers said it was too early ...
Sorry for my bad english....
No need to apologise
Chris Priestly said DA3 won't be revealed at PAX, but some people have seen that Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah are attending, and think they might actually reveal something.
It's a bit early to tell, really, though I hardly see why Chris would be misleading.

Because Chris has denied things in the past that have proven to be true. But even then its still a big, "maybe" at best.ElitePinecone wrote...

Mike Laidlaw's tweet makes me think that they're quite ready to reveal the game. I mean, it sounds like they're prepping some sort of specific feature/gameplay vid which could be shown at the reveal, be it at PAX or not.
And Chris Priestly is just doing his job.
I wouldn't read anything into Mike's tweets. Software developers create prototype of features to see how well "paper ideas" work all the time.
I'm currently doing just that. Well, should be doing...

Meh, you're right. I surely wasn't holding my breath.
I just figured they'd use those vids to show whatever they've got during a hypothetical PAX conference or whatever else may come next.

All I can see now is Chris sitting on a throne made of half dead Bioware staff, with horns and a pitchfork cackling evilly as he tweets. Evil Chris: Bioware's newest mascot.

I think the most they're going to do at PAX is talk about it a little more and MAYBE show the protagonist, but that is hoping for a lot. I don't expect much more. But, I do think we will see something in April or May at the latest.
EA's CEO said just last week that after the reveal of the PS4, many of their marketing teams are getting ready to announce and promote games between now and June - I think, paraphrased, he said they wanted to announce many next-gen projects before E3.

As with the vast majority of early next gen releases, I think it's likely that DA: I will straddle two generations. It's already been confirmed that AC IV and Watch Dogs will be released on both the current and next generation of console and I think EA would want maximise their sales by doing the same.

I don't want them to reveal the protagonist at all. Why would that matter? This isn't ME, where we have Shepherd. The DA games are all about creating your own character. Many of DA2's faults stem from the fact that Bioware wanted to tell Hawke's story, instead of telling a story any character can experience.
A "face" protagonist in a Bioware game is used solely to pull in those people who don't know what the game is about at all. DA:O's Sacred Ashes trailer showcased the companions primarily, showing an older and more grizzled "Warden" then most Origins (including the default human noble) would allow for. That's the way it should be.

If Arnold Schwarzenegger turns up to destroy DA2's existence I'm gonna be extremely concerned. The Terminator scares the **** out of me!
