Finding a new CEO will likely take several months, or longer, and then it'll take time for the new CEO to settle in, go over what the company is currently doing and decide on a direction to take. I'd say it'll probably be some time next year before you see any noticeable changes, at the earliest.
Generally when a CEO steps down and isn't fired they already have a replacement lined up. I would expect another member of the board of directors to fill the seat shortly, possibly within the next few weeks.

Hmph... I don't usually care about EA situations, but this is quite curious. Ah well, just as long as it doesn't affect DA3 I'll be happy..

With as big as EA is, I doubt actual
game development decisions even make it all the way up the management
ladder to the CEO, so its unlikely the change over will have any impact
on games currently in development.
Even if they did, a fill-in or new CEO getting involved with individual games, making changed mid-development, would almost certainly cause EA's stock to take a hit.

I'd disagree. The SimCity release didn't even make the stock price blink, despite being covered in mainstream international news. Heck, their CEO stepping down yesterday with no clear successor caused the stock price to JUMP nearly six percent.
EA stock holders are a different breed. I honestly think they consist of a lot of gamers. Gamers who aren't skittish about drops in revenue or sales in the short term.
EDIT: In a more Twitter-related vein of things, I'm glad to hear John Epler's cat is doing better.

Here is the Twitter update, seeing as this is the Twitter thread and all: https://twitter.com/...004854588723200
Dragon Age III: Inquisition will be on the next-gen Xbox 720. I think we all suspected this but this is sort of just confirmation in a way. Unfortunately, the release date on the individual page for DA3 says 2014, which yet again causes confusion as to when someone will just come out and specify a date so that we don't have so many guesses floating around.
I would assume that since DA3 will be on Xbox 720 it will also be on PS4. What do you guys think about this? Unsurprising? Surprising? Probably means then that DA3 can't be revealed officially until Microsoft unveils the Xbox 720.

I just hope Da won't be exclusive to a console , like Skyrim did...Because waiting months to have access to DLC content sucks.
I don't think DA for the next gen is surprising , if people buy the new consoles , they will want to play games on it , it's a good opportuny to launch a game .
They won't be too many game on the market at first .
But again it would be nice for the DA team to be less vague , because I'm ok with the whole " we don't want to talk about features until we can show anything."
But we are in the dark about the work progress , few months ago it was we may talk about the game when 2013 kicks in , then it was maybe in spring .
Mike tweeted a few weeks ago that the game was still supposed to come out by the end of 2013 , then some devs in this forum went "don't get your hopes up you may not get news in Spring."
Which makes no sense , because they will need to promote the game by late spring ...for this supposed realease date.
Anyway I'm sure sure most of their "consumers " don't care about it , but for the small fan base on the BSN it's a bit ...I don't know , annoying?

Unsurprising that the game is coming out on next gen consoles. Unsurprising it is coming out on the 720 (and we can assume the PS4 as well). Unsurprising that release is going to be pushed into 2014 (and good, given some of the reservations I and others have expressed about a 2013 Holiday release window this year).
However, surprising that a Holiday 2013 date was even suggested in the first place if they were developing for next gen consoles. If the suggestion was made back when Priestly first said it in December/January, I wouldn't be all that puzzled, since we know that console releases can be sketchy. But the fact that we are still hearing of a "target 2013 Fall" date as recently as a week or two ago is odd.
Maybe they are going to do a current gen release in Fall, then a next gen release in 2014? Could be a smart move.

I wouldn't take that article as any sort of confirmation, *particularly* about release dates. This. The article was a piece of ****. It said that those titles were officially confirmed for Xbox 720 and nowhere has anyone officially confirmed that DA 3 will be on the 720. Furthermore, it has 2014 as the release date, meaning that they've misinterperted EA's fiscal calendar with the real world one, like so many other shoddy news sources before it. They've said they're aiming for fiscal year 2014, which is late 2013 on the normal calendar, so there's no actual discrepencay between the release dates but the writer was evidently too preoccupied with pulling stuff out of his ass to realize that he posted the fiscal year release date.

Yeah I hate being in the dark like this, but at least I can tell myself they are working on it and want to save it before it is truly done and this Xbox news is exciting, but I'll just have to get another computer. But what I wonder is How are we going to import our saves if DA3 will have your choices matter? Time will tell....

In another thread I mentioned the Fall release window and Gaider told me that that wasn't to be relied upon. When I pointed out that Laidlaw had reiterated that window less than 2 weeks before that he just treated me like an a-hole, telling me not to call it a release date even though I had never called it a release date.

Our choices from Origins didn't matter in DA2. I don't know why people are expecting them to matter in Inquisition.

Because the definition of "matters" is very different for different people.
I don't care what they do with my choices. I only care that they don't just drop plot ideas off the face of the earth.
Dwarven society was very interesting to me. And preserving the Anvil was one of the most no-brainer things I've ever done.
But we'll never see any follow up to how Dwarven life is different based on our DA:O decisions. The story will keep moving farther and farther away, both physically and narratively. They may slide a Codex entry in somewhere, maybe have an barkeep tell us a funny rumor that signifies the game "remembers" our choice... maybe even a fun little side quest where we talk to someone, go somewhere else, kill some people, return to the person and collect a sovereign.
If that sounds like your choices matter, then you will be happy. If that sounds like you were lied to, then you won't be happy.
Either way, I get frustrated with the fact that we won't get to see Dwarven society. Because they won't make one playthrough where Bhelen has disbanded the Assembly and is ruling as a tyrant with full control of the Anvil and one playthrough where Harrowmont was assassinated and the Assembly is in deadlock trying to find a new kind again. If they do, then Orzammar will look and feel the exact same, with the throne room being the only difference.
I'd like to see Dust Town after Harrowmont sends the golems in to wipe out the Casteless. I'd like to see the Casteless fighting against the Darkspawn under Bhelen and seeing some priveleges and rights gained. I'd like to see the golems retaking Thaigs as far deep as near Orlais. I'd like to see the dwarves facing extinction because the Darkspawn are overwhelming Orzammar and they don't have the anvil or the troops to fight them off any longer. I want to see how the destruction of the new Chantry in Orzammar is leading to an Exalted March on the dwarves.
I don't care which choice I made (honestly, I make every choice in DA games, I play until the replay value is gone). I want to see a story followed up on in a real manner. And they really can't do that with the Save Import. Its been confirmed by Gaider that they will never do anything as extreme as what I am talking about, as the story won't allow for it because they need to respect people's playthroughs. So no choice will get any real follow-up. It will all be the same, no matter what we choose, which is understandable. But not only will it be the same, but it won't be developed any further either. THAT'S the infuriating part.
I don't mind seeing Allistair, Anora, the Warden or any combination of those three on the throne of Ferelden. But knowing that the most the choice we made in DA:O will affect future games is likely the cameo we saw in DA2? That's just a shame. It is wasted potential. Any story told, even if it felt like it had much more left to tell, is going to be dangling or given the tiniest of lip service to.
And I'm done. This is hardly Twitter-thread appropriate.

In DA2 our choices didn't really grow yet... Now that ten years passed we should be able to see how we affected Ferelden and *Sighs and clinches teeth* Kirkwall.... I read the codex entray about how Alistair's rule is "plauged with trouble" and I want to see how that affects DA3 because putting Alistair on the throne to some extent (depending on who rules with him) is a popular choice among players. I think that the choices we thought were good can have bad outcomes for us to want to play the others games again to see different options.
