The writing on that 'party' trailer seemed... odd? Not like bioware at all, kinda cringe worthy at times.
The only thing I found really convoluted and clunky was "as passionate and reactionary as the groundswell she brings", which is a pretty ridiculous sentence.
But I assume a marketing person got lost in a thesaurus or something - those lines sound specially recorded for the trailer, not part of the game. I don't think we should assume they were written by the writers.
It's a simulation of life in a fantasy enviroment. It's not a fantasy in that events should play out at the players behest. Characters should have reasons, good characters anyway. Just making them player fantasy analogues does not make a good character it makes a fan service character.
Because naturally, all other characterisation goes out the window the second they become romantically available to me. 
I'm not saying that all characters should fall in love with the PC, but just because they can be romanced by all players it doesn't suddenly make them less valid as characters in their own right.
I'm just saying, maybe try playing Baldur's Gate II as a female.

The only one i didn´t...feel...for is Blackwall, kinda straight forward and all but didn´t get me to react like the other ones. But that´s just me...Also, i wonder what´s up with Felix...
There's a rumor floating around that every companion is romanceable, but I haven't actually seen the citation for it. The closest thing is one of the Devs saying that there's more romance options in this game than ever before, and also on the Iron Bull's character page it says something about how he'll get into bed with anyone he won't, uh, break. (kinky)

David was upset when people mentioned wanting to romance Cole because he's mentally a child.
Gaider said that he found the concept of Cole ever being in a romance strange, since he has the mentality of the child. It was in 2013, if I recall.

So I found a 'screener' video of the demo from E3, runs about 15 minutes, there are two heads in the way, but you get to see some pretty cool stuff and hear some dialogue.
