But to be fair, there is a good cross-section there... Companions from Seheron, Free Marches, Tevinter, Orlais, Nevarra, Ferelden... That's not bad.

I am really expecting Dorian to be the male only LI, with Iron Bull being the bisexual one.

 

I'm expecting for Dorian to be the male only LI, too. Not sure about Iron Bull, though. Based on his description on the website, it's probably accurate that he is bisexual. I think Bioware may surprise us with the romance options. Although I was totally expecting for Sera to be the female only LI, and that turned out to be correct.

They are originally from there, but lots of them are already in orlais/fereldan when the crisis starts, which contradicts the idea of coming from all over the world BECAUSE of the threat

Accents doesn't mean much. Varric is a Marcher, Cassandra is Nevarran, IB is from Seheron/Pal Vollen, Dorian from Tevinter. 4/9 are already from outside Ferelden and Orlais, and we still don't know from where Solas and Blackwall come.

Well, for some reason I feel like BioWare feels like they can't give us a Qunari companion and NOT let him be a LI.
