To be fair, Sera's bad haircut seems to be intentional.

I sure do hope you're right. Otherwise I cringe at the thought that all of my characters will probably wear one acceptable hairstyle. I swear that in DA2, I hate every each and one of them besides the default one. Which I couldn't use on a custom char. ARGH! I don't even ask for longe hairstyles, but would it hurt to throw in some braids or ponytails?
What?
From what I've read, Sera is a character that doesn't give a rat's backside about how others perceive her. Her controversial choice of haircut would demonstrate that she doesn't care.
What?
To quote David Gaider's Tumblr. 'I love how her hair looks like she cuts it with a blunt knife. The writers call it “Bad Decision Hair”, and we adore it. And her.'
I'd say that's a pretty good indication that Sera's unprofessional haircut is a feature of the character.

Oh, ok, got it. But if looks don't matter to her why does she use excessive amounts of eyeliner and mascara? ![]()

I expect banter and comments about it then..

Make up can be practical. The Egyptan used it in the same manner as why the football players put that black stuff on their cheeks: reduces sunlight glare by having something black absorb the light. As an archer she needs to be able to see well.

Wouldn't it be awesome to a have a mix of mascara and sweat run into your eyes in the thick of the battle?
Slowly catching up with DAI stuff at E3 I missed at work. Sera's model looks grea- Wait... Why are her boobs so low??
Spoiler
She makes an excellent point.

Sera's much older than she appears to be.
I thought this was a twitter thread, turned into Sera dissection overnight?

Well devs are all sleeping at this point, so for those of us on the other side of the world we have nothing else to do but discuss.
Oh, ok, got it. But if looks don't matter to her why does she use excessive amounts of eyeliner and mascara?
I think you answered that yourself.
She's heard that she ought to use some makeup but can't be bothered to waste a lot of time on it. She seems a very sensible companion.
Cats would make excellent pets. I have it on good authority they swat genlocks. Even draw blood.
(And they also try to possess little girls)
Yes, Cats, plural.

Or she could be one of those people who spend hours trying to make their hair look like they've never touched it with a comb or hairbrush in their life.

That sounds horrible if you say it like that.

I thought they were going for this and then changed their minds.

Her make up makes her look like someone has tricked her into looking through a pair of binoculars with shoe polish on the eye pieces.
Yes, Cats, plural.
