Definitely the most plausible reason. Hard for me to believe they'd get this far in development, call it content complete, and then in the last 4 months before release do a re-recording of an entire game's worth of dialogue for one character. Definitely possible though...

I wonder when they are going to release Volume 2 of World of Thedas. Volume 1 was excellent.

Its unlikely, but what if they make some last minute changes and the VA suddenly becomes unavailable?  Or there's some contractual dispute?  Better to cover their bases.

I'm a bit conflicted about Alix.  On one hand, I loved her as Traynor!  On the other, I was hoping for a voice with more gravitas to it for my female Qunari.  I guess I'll just have to wait to here the American VA.

I'll be using the British voice for Human/Elf and the American for Dwarf/Qunari.  Mostly because they have become the sort of de facto representation of their respective races so far.

 

I do realize that humans/elves have a wide variety of accents based mostly on region.
