Now we know why Dorian was flipping out over the table being stabbed. He's the one that picked it out.

Anyone see the venom villed article on PCgamer?
http://www.pcgamer.c...bullish-qunari/
Sheesh, what crawled up his ass and took a dump in his spleen?

Eh, the author of Witcher actually disapproves of such blatant sexualisation of women but I guess no one listened to him much
I realllly love The Witcher games, but the first one (more so than the second) was pretty damn offensive. So much so that it made me quite upset. The second was good, imho. There was too much needless female nudity in it, though. At least we got naked Geralt. I guess I really love Triss a lot so i'm a bit more forgiving for her overt-sexualisation.

Where the hell did you get this impression from?
The image they convey of how woman are mostly sex objects in Witcher 1, Witcher 2 was better on that front with multiple powerful women. As for homosexuals, I think the only one was Philipa and she was bit of a ***** to put it lightly
Anyway we should keep this out of the Twitter Thread, there are PM's or someone could create a group Dragon Age vs The Witcher. *shrugs* I don't know just not here. This conversation never ends well.
At least we got naked Geralt.
What...! SERIOUSLY!? In mine he was always wearing pants or there was no groin or rear shot of him.

oh jesus.. not everything has to be an exercise in political correctness. CDP Red's customer service is one of the best in the industry. That is an undeniable fact. No DRM, no nonsense DLC thingies. They treat their customers with respect. It's kind of ironic that you berate them for not having created the world themselves, but based it on a novel, and then you berate them for not having gay or female characters, conveniently forgetting that it's... based on a novel.
Where the hell did you get this impression from?
Their customer service may be the best that has ever been. The content of their games is, however, insulting. When women are treated as objects to be "won" by that card system that is offensive. And when the Witcher 2 includes the most blatant and violent scene of "justifiable" gay bashing on any entertainment medium in the last decade that is also insulting.
I don't care about their DRM and their DLCs etc. when homophobia is used as a supposedly natural element in their game.
I could not bring myself to continue to play the game after Dethmold's death scene. I felt like they spat in my face. I was shaking all over. They may be awesome for other fans, but to me they were downright threatening.

Take the Witcher nonsense elsewhere(srs there are other threads for this), there's a reason why this thread was unpinned.

Reflective of the character you play. Yes, you play a character who has certain attitudes to women in a world which is not very pleasant for women to live in. If that's offensive to you then tough, because it sure as hell doesn't make CD Projekt sexist for creating it.
And when the Witcher 2 includes the most blatant and violent scene of "justifiable" gay bashing on any entertainment medium in the last decade that is also insulting.
There was no gay bashing.

I agree. I'd love to finish the game but I hated the fan service
Eh, they're just being smug. Can't even get their bloody facts straight.

Though as I said I've read a quote of the author who commented unflatteringly on dudes who want to see women dress up in bikini armour while such armour would never provide any defense even against weather
How despite such opinion of the author we got what we got is beyond me
Some of Witcher fans I know say that the game and the novels are completely sepate things

Opps, What did I start....................
Let me just say that I did not intend to attack the Witcher series in anyway so please stop feeling the need to defend it. I was just stating that I find it aggravating when Witcher fans bash Bioware. Its the fans I was criticizing, not the game or the company.
It remembers me of back in the day whenever FF8 fans tried to chat about the game the loved, there were always FF7 trolls butting in and bashing the game and ranting about how obviously superior FF7 was. Its really annoying.
Now if I try to talk about how excited I am for DA: I on other forums, chances are high that someone is going to interrupt to remind us of the superiority of the Witcher series, how EA is evil, and how BIoware is a dead company.

Most of us lurkers come here for news abot Dragon age and not for the endless bickering about Witcher.
It´s getting really annoying.

Lol! What was the point of that article? Maybe he'd prefer it if the entire inquisition frolicked everywhere, painted all their armour in lovely shades of rainbow and used any slight dip in conversation as an excuse to break into a musical number ![]()

I'm FF9 fan and though one of the Square enix devs consider it a masterpiece the fandom treats the game like crap for being cartoon-ey

Oh god, 40 "Major Endings". The lie is getting worst. It was original just 40 endings. Now this fraud of a reporter has distorted that incorrect story into 40 MAJOR endings. Le Sigh.
The comment section is even worst:
"These guys (bioware) need to try and get out from under the vile umbrella of EA games, and then take some RPG lessons from CDProjektRed about how to make an awesome RPG with a great story, fantastic characters, interesting locations and amazing combat.
Witcher 3 is the RPG to beat now. Nothing else comes close.
And CDPR are the developer to beat, in every way. They actually care about their customers and fans, they listen to what people want (even so much as putting huge changes into their games after release, as in the witcher 2 enhanced edition), and they are true PC developers as well."
Eww, I kind of dislike the combat in the Witcher 2. I'd cry if Bioware started emulating it. It feels like a poor excuse for Dark Souls combat system which I feel is much smoother.
Apparently the concept that an RPG fan like me could like and buy not just the Witcher 3 but also DA: I, Pillars of Eternity, and even hardcore old school games such as Grimrock and Might and Magic X is heresy. I swear, the Witcher series is great but posts like that make me really hate the fans of the game. Reminds me of the same fanaticism that surrounds FF7 and the absurd claims that its the greatest game ever made.
When referencing the Witcher as a series superior in every way to Dragon Age, a game which actually has a bouncing boob mechanic, ridiculously underrepresented proportions of women and is, at least in the case of the first game, made to appeal to straight white dudebros who want to believe all women want to sleep with them, I struggle to take your argument seriously.

Because they actually CHANGED in tone from the novels to make it MORE sexist. As stated, the writer of the novels is really against oversexualisation of women. The witcher series certainly isn't.
And people seem to treat political correctness as if it's an incredibly bad thing. What exactly is wrong with not wanting to make some groups of people feel like **** or make it seem like they're not welcome to play the game, and create a game in part to fulfill (stereo)typical male fantasies not just about women but about all social matters, with their homophobic presentation as well?
It irritates me to no end that people think not wanting to make others feel like **** in a game is stupid.
EDIT: posted these before seeing people saying not to post anymore on this thread about the Witcher.... ok I'll stop ![]()

Spoiler
This bed was in the World of Thedas
Great, now I want one of those. And of course a throne to match, we are in Orlais afterall. Problem is that if I get one of these, style demands that the rest of the castle gets the same treatment, *sigh* decisions ![]()
Character profiles were OK. WHy you stopped them Bioware?
I presume because it is weekend, they will hopefully continue on monday.

Hey, I like rainbows and musicals
. It does not have to be dreary and grey all the time. Though I do suspect that presence of either is rather limited in DAI, though I will have to say I was pleasantly surprised when Leliana proved me wrong in the first game ![]()
And for the Maker, Old Gods, Creators and who know what else's sake, can we please leave these Witcher vs. DA comment out of this thread?
