Context is important. David Gaider says a lot of things. Most of them with deep, biting sarcasm.
This is where the exchange starts.

And then another topic he told me again that that isn't a release date and that I should stop calling it that, even though I never referred to as a release date. But now those posts are deleted.
Yes, he told you that it's a target for release, not a release date. He falesly accussed you of labelling it a release date. Fair enough.
The point is that (1) Gaider never said it wasn't the release target, merely that it wasn't a release date, because he was evidently under the false impression that you were labelling it as such. And that (2), even if you choose to disregard point, Laidlaw is still Gaider's boss and probably has a better idea of the release window they're aiming for.
Gaider was probably distrubed with what he perceived as posters taking fall 2013 as a gospel release date and acted out of fear that, in the event of any delays, people here would be whining that Bioware lied or broke their promise about the release date or w/e. Then he took it out on you.
ETA: And for the record, I still am making fun of people in my head who are coming up with conspiracy theories about the game being delayed because they're not getting information NOW. I'm also making fun of people who are acting like a fall 2013 release date will indicate that the game was rushed like DA 2 despite all evidence to the contrary.
