There's a popular theory going around that the Inquisitor was simply a body for hire picked up for protection. Which works except for magi and Dalish.

Dalish MIGHT'VE been there because well, Magi involves them, with the keepers and all. They probably want an end to this the same as everyone else. So Elfquisitor may've been there guarding a keeper.

Does this mean Fiona is killed?  :(

And Rhys and Evangeline by the sounds of things. ;A;

Maybe that's how we get Cole.

Yea, it might just be a cutscene

Though I would much prefer a Ostagar type opening for you to get set up what type of character you are and meet some of the characters there

I agree but I think A. they are going with a much more mysterious vibe with the Inquisitor that yes you are there but...you know little about yourself.  I would not be the least bit surprised if the Inquisitor has some sort of amnesia even for most of his/ her life events before the Breach occured.  So basically in this vein if you are just some random bloke traveling through this area, maybe NEAR the Temple but not actually attending the conference and then BAM it allows them to set up something a lot more vague, give people more time to set up their own backstories, head canons, etc.  B.  Especially since we know they are not getting an 'Origin story' in this so the game is going to begin right at the Breach.  Whether or not you are attending or not is the question but I do believe in my heart of hears that it makes a lot more sense for you just to be someone totally random.  Because I doubt a random Tal-vashoth or a Dalish Elf would have much interest in attending a peace conference...and then if they do there needs to be a specific reason in lore, and THAT would take away from people's role playing which tends to annoy.

And I just had a horrible thought.  What if the Dalish Inquisitor is traveling with his/her clan through the blast radius so when it happens their entire clan is wiped out and its just them.

No, those three need to stay at Mage HQ incase something like what happens happens. Please, Bioware. Don't kill off awesome people. Kill Adrian instead.

I'd rather Irving take his place at the Peace Summit since they're both part of the same Frat  :unsure:

Well, we lost our friend and were forced to leave our clan in DAO. Bioware has of up the despair :devil:.
On mage leaders dying, I guess my theory of Rhys dying in the start of the game, leading Cole to revenge him and join the Inquisition won't be welcomed here.

But...but...I love Rhys. :(

Rhys is what Anders should have been really at the end I really like Anders but...Rhys seemed more 'pushed' into his decision at the end with his vote where Anders was like muhahahaha kaboom!

I can accept this theory.  It really works for all races/ backgrounds and it meshes with my theory that you are just this nobody who just *happens* to be there and happens to be *lucky* enough to survive.

We all love Rhys, sweetie. ;A;

And that's the theory I'm going with now, but like said, doesn't work for a maginquisitor.

Unless they're not an Apostate like I'm assuming they are.

Well we have seen mages sort of hiding in the weeds, so to speak, and able to hide themselves from prying Templar eyes.  After all bloody Hawke was able to stay within Kirkwall while the Templars were hunting him and just seemingly 'blend in'.  Their staff might just be hidden or if anyone asks he just pulls the ole 'its a walking stick' line. :P

With the divine present, it makes no sense the Grand Enchanter won't be.
@Al Foley: I'm not saying I like my theory. I just think it's very possible.

Just finished it actually.  And I know, and I agree.  Man did she go dark side in a hurry.  She was the Anders of the piece.  Well no that is kind of insulting Anders.  She is Anders without any of the charm.  It was a real shame too I kind of liked her at the start but then at the end...while I do not wish ill on anyone most of the time...well if I were Rhys I probably would have thrown her off the fortress.

I don't think that's entirely fair.

The Kirkwall Templars were bloody morons.

Perhaps it is a good as explanation as any on why they let Hawke run amok....but on the other hand you had a lot of good Templars in Kirkwall for a time, even Meredith was not uber evilz until she got her hands on the idol.

They would, but they're kind of missing right now! D<

Hope we get an actual explanation as to what happened to Hawke and the Warden, even if it's a 'they're dead'. Like, they was all that 'That's no coincidence' thing at the end of DA2.

Something must've happened.

I don't know what it says about Anders that we now say things like 'He/She was the Anders of this'.  ._.
