Please can somebody give me link at info about endings? There are really 40 of them?

Dragon Age doesn't really have 40 endings. Also, leaked Dwarf gameplay; Alix Wilton Regan: http://bit.ly/1qZIisK pic.twitter.com/QScBS0l51k
There's an explanation in there.

Nope. 40 is the major variations in the endings based on your choices in the game. The number of really distinct ending wasn't revealed, but they said there were few of them.

Better to think of it as 40 possible variations. Its been said that there are "several" major variations. I'd wager there being as many as six. Who knows what Bioware classifies as a minor variation though.

Darrah actually stated that there'll be 'hundreds' of minor variations based on the choices made in all three games, while the major ones (40) would be based on choices in this game.Better to think of it as 40 possible variations. An example of major choices would be the choice of the Emperor/Empress.

I thought we were talking about endings? Meaning only several major endings, not the number of major choices. I'm confused.

Darrah used 'endings' to indicate both minor and major variations, and then stated that unique and distinct endings will be few.

Supposedly the ending (or, perhaps more accurately "the world state at end game") depend upon decision and choices made by the player/protagonist

So basically whoever is Emperor/Empress is two different endings technically?

More like two different variations within an unspecified number of unique endings. To use ME3 as an example, we could see Quarians on Rannoch (or not) in all 3 colors of epilogue. So, seeing either Gaspard or Celene (or whoever) would likely be a variation across any endings that don't involve Thedas blowing up.

I can already tell the mainstream audience is gonna give bioware major **** for these misinterpretations by "journalists". They're gonna expect 40 COMPLETELY different endings I'm sure then the ME3 debacle will start all over again. Makes me sad, I wish the majority of gamers would grow a brain.
I don't think it's going to be as bad, for a few reasons. One, Dragon Age just isn't as hot a brand name as Mass Effect right now. I hope this sells really well, and I know it has a very ardent fandom, but most places I go, people are already discussing "ME4" more than Inquisition. But I mean, by proxy that helps it avoid some of the vitriol. >_> Two, I feel confident BioWare learned its lesson and will have more variation than the original Mass Effect 3 endings, and probably more closure than even Extended Cut. I could of course be mistaken, but I can't imagine that wasn't prioritized at least to a point following the PR disaster. Lastly, I don't think anyone's really anticipating 40 completely different endings; even the people who read those original articles likely had enough brain cells to at the very least remember ME3.
There'll be anger, and there'll be still more "BioWare sux." But a lot of that, I feel, will come from people who just consistently look for more reason to lash out at the company.
And of course there's always the slim chance the game won't be good, at which point some of the negative feedback will be understandable. But I haven't been let down by the company yet, personally, so I'll probably enjoy it regardless of legacy.

As long as the endings we do get aren't as bad as ME3's, I can't imagine backlash being that bad.
It won't be a case of how many endings there are, it's how satisfying they are.

As long as they actually show what happens to the world and fit thematically, I think they're safe. I'd actually love it if they returned to the epilogue slides of Origins, even with the understanding that subsequent games will treat them as rumor.

To be fair, the endings don't have to worry about wrapping up a trilogy so we have that bonus on our side. But let's not speak of the drama that comes from endings before it draws out the crazed, still-angry fans to start their yelling. o.O
