Well, falsely accusing people of being witches and rampant puritanical paranoia...yeah, that sounds appropriate. Consider the demo quest with the backstory of the woman's husband being killed because his shovel was mistaken for a staff.

I confess I'm intrigued by that quest since watching the dwarf demo hearing someone else mention it.  That and its quest title, "Agrarian Apostate".

Plot twist: he WAS an apostate and his shovel WAS a staff. That's how his cucumbers always won first place at the county fair.

It even fits in with the theories about the Salem Witch Trials stemming from contaminated grain!

Ines the Botanist's apostate brother semi-confirmed?

Sometimes I worry about the Bioware crew.

A lot.

I don't. We all need a little madness to keep us sane. I endorse this

Dragon Age @dragonage

Varric: The Storyteller. Get a quick introduction to this handsome rogue here: http://bit.ly/1l789hY  #DAI

Bqg-Cb4CAAAMmBW.jpg

Varric Tethras is one part adventurous rogue, one part dashing storyteller, and three parts trouble. Born on the surface, Varric has little love for his underground brethren—all his contacts lie with the dwarves of the Merchants Guild, though he has little taste for their schemes. Still, he has found a place as an outsider, rubbing shoulders with both the wealthy elite as well as the worst of scoundrels. To hear him tell of it, that’s all he truly cares about, though anyone who truly knows him claims differently. They say that, try as he might, Varric has been drawn more and more into conflicts that shake the world—ones that he can’t get himself out of with a quick tale.

Varric ... Varric ... I swear I know that guy from somewhere ...

Was he in Knights of the Old Republic?

MESSAGE POPULAIRE !

Sometimes I have the impression the companion's banter is really just everyday discussion that happens in the Writer's Pit.

There is at least one banter between followers that resulted from me seeing a thing and then saying a thing about the thing I just saw.

He's in Skyrim, too, btw.....

with a not so nice claim....

There's an easter egg of him in Skyrim, but not him personally.  The person who says that in his journal was just making a comment that he's done it, not that he was the Adoring Fan from Oblivion..because then he'd be over 200 yrs old

Good thing BioWare people are not bomb disposal experts.

To be honest I wonder how the templars are half as functional as they seem since the chantry controls the lyrium trade and they're broken off from the chantry. Is the whole red lyrium thing just what they turn to since they can't get regular lyrium to sate their addictions and activate their powers?

Or have they brokered deals with dwarves to get smuggled lyrium.

That would explain a lot of the templars in DA2...

Probably a bit of both I'd imagine

Would it even need to be smuggled? Does the Chantry have the power to do anything about it these days?

Well most people in thedas still follow their religion, so they have sway over the royals and their armies. And it doesn't seem like all their templars and seekers left so they still have their own army. So yeah. Most likely they do.

Indeed.  When the arms break off the body the torso is pretty much left to lay there and impotently b!tch.

I bet they are still pretty strong, it'll be like religion in FF10, even when its proved to be bad/does something bad, people will still follow it because they have for so long and its all they know

There are still the Templars and Seekers who stayed loyal to the Chantry.

Since they are back to the character reveals with the "Person the insert quality here", I wonder if we'll see the rest of the characters and then get their interviews the following bit of time?
