In my opinion , Cole is the best character design of all the Companions revealed until now , very creepy , very well done , thumbs aloft Bioware.
For me, Vivienne has the strongest design - if for no other reason than that outlandish outfit. 
But Cole is a strong contender for 2nd place...

He looks so much like a neglected puppy I can't help but think I'll treat him like one "cole sweetie forget about the fighting, you wrap up in a nice blanket and drink some hot coco. I'll have some lunch brought up and then your tutors can come teach you your letters after nap time" and then I keep him super safe forever and ignore his throat slitting shenanigans

So... Cole. I'm still not entirely sold on him as a companion but he certainly looks the part of a creepy, alive/dead spirit guy. What interests me most is all the whys of his existence. And his VA; they're going to have to be awesome to make the character work.
What is up with this pattern being on so many articles of clothing?
I would assume it's one of the default customisation patterns that can be used on anyone on the team, including the Inquisitor.
