They've been fiddling with character appearance all along. They've probably de-cuted him since then to make him more creepy.

The fact that Cole is a companion almost made me throw up, then I looked at the pics and I actually threw up. 

 

For me the whole idea screams emo bullshit like Fenris and Anders. 

 

I hope he offers nothing to the Inquisition so I wont feel like I'm missing out on anything.

hmmm...i have this vauge memory that somewhere a long time ago we "found out" that Gaider was writing 2 companions and 2 romance options, so either this is false (wich it propably is), or he is writing the romance for someone elses character...since he was against the romance on Cole (so is i btw)...

I like feeling emotions, I just don't like forced mediocare characters that are written to be emotional just for being emotional. 

 

Also did anyone else notice that Cole's profile is the only one with three screenshots? This is bullshit.

If you would like a little reassurance about whether or not he gets a "happy ending", I'm gonna get meta on you.

 

He certainly seems like the type of character who gets a tragic ending. But...

 

This game will not likely have epilogue slides or anything. The devs have confirmed that after you "beat the game", you still get to keep running around, doing quests, fighting dragons, etc. So, he either gets some sort of resolution that allows him to stay, or you lose him forever at some point. Considering that they likely intend to keep the game going with DLC and whatnot that simply takes place after the main game, I can't see them forcibly writing a character out permanently. Now, you can of course CHOOSE to do something that gets rid of him. But I don't think it will be forced on you.

 

That's not to say that something bad won't happen. It most certainly will. But at least, afterwards, he'll still be in your party. So he won't die (again?) or be banished or whatever.

Well, let's do all those things to you that were done to Cole and see if you get emotional.

His story is supposed to be tragic, traumatizing and painful. Of course that brings emotions.
