Wow that's really late. I wonder if they'll wait that long for a reveal...
Well, Mr. Laidlaw was quoted (a couple pages back) as saying E3 would be too late for a reveal and that happens in June, so I'm hoping for April. But who knows? These thing change from time to time.
Hmm, I've been keeping up this this thread and I never saw that posted.
If it's true that does ease the waiting a bit. Having a sort of time zone of when it will be revealed is nice.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw
@KiaBear01 Late 2013 is the announce. I don't have a specific date for you.
Regarding time for a reveal:
10 Feb
[person asked]: @Mike_Laidlaw I get the impression that we might see some of DA3 at PAX or E3 or both. Or am I just being hopeful?
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw
@[person] I'd like to get it out to look at sooner than later. Trying to make sure we're at some kind of parity first after engine change.
EA's Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen was quoted at a Morgan Stanley conference as saying:
"I’d say, between now and E3, you are going to see a lot of stuff, and we are going to chose with our marketing teams when to announce.”
Microsoft's Xbox event is widely rumoured to be in late April.

Incoming tweet:
Ryan Loe: "The way things are looking, I am probably doing the cinematics for one of the romances in DA3. No armour sex though."
okay, well, that's good. Nothing quite chafes like armour sex..
But hook us up Ryan! Do it good. Facial expressions. Small touches. Steamy. Hot sex on a platter!
oh, ahem...did I say that out loud?

What she said, different teams work on different elements of the game. So even if they're still struggling to get the right balance for leveling, as long as the art and story assets are in place the cinematics team can keep chugging right along.azarhal wrote...

Really? I was just thinking that it was a bit early to be doing cinematics for something as superfluous as the romance. I mean, Cameron Lee just replied to a thread here on the BSN saying they were still working on exactly how to handle the leveling/progression for the game. If they haven't nailed down the Level Up process, it seems out of sorts to me that they would be working on one of the sex scenes.
But I suppose that's just game development - everything is being worked on at all times and anything near what the "final product" of the game, from any perspective, won't be done until a few months before final release.
The people who work on progression don't work on cinematics...

That hardly confirms it will be out before E3. He just says he wants it to be shown sooner than later. It's merely him being eager.

...didn't I say as much in my last sentence...? Everything is being worked on at once. I realize that one person or team isn't working on everything. Hence they can work on everything at once.

It was kinda more of an implication, but I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. I think we'll see something a while before E3.

Yeah, sooner rather than later sounds like he'd prefer a reveal to be within the next couple of months, rather than later in the year. I dunno who's has the final say when it comes to reveal dates and stuff though.

*Name removed*: "What's been your favourite BioWare game to work on so far?"
Ryan Loe: "That's tough. Every game I had a different role and a different focus and all were very positive. If I had to choose...DA3."
*Name removed*: "DA3 certainly sounds like it's gonna be something special... from the little we know about anyway lol."
Ryan Loe: "The special thing about DA3 is the team. It is super supportive and truly collaborative. So much talent. I feel inadequate."

Oh, don't feel inadequate. It's a good thing to be surrounded by so much talent. I think it makes you better. Inspiires and pushes.
Better to be small fish in a pond w/big talented fish, than a big fish in a pond ...uh..with...small, untalented ones...?
That kinda got away from me, but point is..I like that "truly collaborative" part. It seems like they have a pretty good team chemistry. Seems like anyway.

*Several devs have said that the game will be unveiled when it's ready, but when I mentioned this Gaider said that that wasn't accurate. He said the game will be shown when the team feels ready to show it. And that the team will feel ready to show it when it's ready to be shown. Seriously.

I'm still pretty convinced the game is either behind schedule or not being released until 2014. All the double speak about when they'll show the game*, skipping this perfect opportunity at PAX, failing to talk about Inquisition as much as they did last year, all while saying that they want to unveil the game as soon as possible doesn't lend itself to any other explanation IMO.

Unless EA are making them wait for that Xbox 720 event thing? Bah, I dunno. The waiting is torture, either way.

Like I've said before, the PS4 has already been unveiled and several multiplatform next-gen titles along with it. It makes no sense for them to wait for that event unless they're unveiling at the event, but that doesn't make sense either. Dragon Age is not a console-seller and the franchise is basically up in the air for a lot of gamers.

True, very true indeed, but I seriously think EA is making Bioware hold out for 720.. This waiting is becoming unbreable

I know that there are rumours circulating that EA may have struck up a deal with Xbox, but I wouldn't put any stock in that.
Out of curiosity, what do you think is going on with development process?
