Mike Laidlaw: @annlemay @SherylChee Uhm...can you get her back together by tomorrow? We're going to need her for a while, yet.
Sheryl Chee: @Mike_Laidlaw @annlemay I think I'll eventually recover. Eventually.

@Mike_Laidlaw Also at this point are you able to say weither darkspawn will look like more like they did in DA:O or DA:2?@Mike_Laidlaw
@jackkipz DAII. I know some folks preferred the origins look, but they were too close to “orks” with the green skin.@jackkipz
@Mike_Laidlaw I agree with that. Although they're old armour was better, and the ogres looked better in DA:O IMO, blue skin and all.@Mike_Laidlaw
@jackkipz Fair enough. I've also read -extensive- notes on their dentistry. (Some certainly preferred their fangs)

It does seem to have a suspiciously concentrated rate of shenanigans, though - and jars of eyelashes.
More seriously, some sort of dev commentary (or behind-the-scenes interviews?) alongside DA3 would be fantastic - particularly from the writers. It's not something Bioware generally does - I think? - but I've personally really enjoyed seeing studio documentaries for other games. Even small insights into the creative process can be really interesting.

Maybe the Seekers don't have eyes?
Perhaps they can sense through the For- wait, different game.
I didn't know flamberge swords actually existed, but they do seem primarily ceremonial (from what I can find out), and impractical to actually use - particularly when the degree of bendiness is as much as that Seeker's sword.

Though I don't agree, I'm sure Mike will revise the look. DA2's Darkspawn were terrible, but Lecacy is where it really counts. Gaider's novels always described them as corrupted men, not freakish monsters.
This:

Is much better compared to this:
They were more 'pale' and 'sick' looking than just "evil." As if they were really men before they became...that.

Funnily enough it's DAO that had shown the player explicitly Darkspawn smiths and armour camps where they made their stuff (iirc one of such smiths even plays a role of a mini-boss in the Deep Roads)Valadras21 wrote...
I gotta say I liked the Darkspawn's armor better in DA:2. It was more uniform and made them feel unsurprisingly more like a unified threat, at least to me. DA:O had a sound concept behind the Darkspawn's armor, the idea that it was just kind of pieced together and crude, but that kind of fell apart imo when every single hurlock was wearing the same exact pieced together metal scraps. The look of their gear in DA:2 seemed like they had a group of Darkspawn left behind in the deep roads that just throws together light, uniform suits of armor, similar to the way Uruk-hai were equipped in the LOTR movies.
I'm also not sure how you manage to consider the exact same thing in both games (characters being effectively clones wearing identical gear) a negative in one game, but then turn around and view it as a plus in the sequel yet without changing your mind about the first title.

They looked like those Mighty Morphin Power Rangers putty men to me. I liked them in DAO better, they really put you off edge, I mean people in-game (i.e. Alistair) who see them for the first time are universally freaked. They looked "freak" able.
Though, if darkspawn show up in DA3, you think they will have the new genlock (the darkspawn from dwarven broodmothers) model?

You're misreading what I said. I'm not saying that looking exactly the same was good in DA:2, but bad in DA:O.
As you said, there is a smithy in Dragon Age Origins and we fight the forgemaster mini boss. I would imagine, from the fact that they do indeed make their own gear, and the size of their army, that they would make armor that appears uniform and simple, as it would be inefficient to make unique armor for every soldier in a vast horde. Furthermore, I believe they likely have a lot more forges than just the one we take out in DA:O.
However, in DA:O the darkspawn look like they pieced their armor together individually. It's very detailed and storied. It doesn't look like something that was rapidly mass produced in a series of forges for a massive invasion force. And it looks silly when a huge number of darkspawn are all wearing the same pieced-together scraps, that has the same damage, details, and war paint on it. It suggests, to me, that all the darkspawn raid the same towns, loot the same metal scraps, and strap them on the same way, and get hit/burned in the same places.
DA2's darkspawn armor looks how it should, imo: rapidly mass-produced for a huge invasion force. The armor itself is not very detailed, and it only covers necessary vital locations on the body. It looks more like something that would be forced out of a production line. Does that make sense?
Edit: btw tmp7704, if you read this, thank you for all your great mod work in DA:O, the qunari update and DA2 grey warden armor especially

Ahh you're right then, i misread what you meant. The amount of detail in Darkspawn armour combined with the uniformity never really bothered me personally -- as it didn't appear any more intricate than the armour worn by the other side, so it was easy to accept it as something manufactured in similar manner (complicated but identical gear for entire armies) Unlike DA2 Darskpawn "armour" it never felt to me like something pieced together from random scraps, so it didn't give me reaction you're experiencing. I can see where you'd be coming from now, though.Valadras21 wrote...

No, I'm seriously not kidding, you make Cullen an LI in this game, I will buy two copies of the collector's edition.
I will join you in PRE-ORDERING multiple copies if there is lots of Cullen. Otherwise, I guess I'll just get one.Really hoping for copious amounts of Cullen goodness though.
Agreed. Not keen on Cullen from DAO, but loved his development in DA2.
