GDC is from March 25 to March 29, if I'm not mistaken. I wouldn't expect anything, though: they weren't ready to show DAI off during PAX, why would they be one day later at a different convention?

This.

If Bioware is going to do this at a con, it wouldn't be GDC. Microsoft's event in late April is the best chance now. But that still will be saturated with next-gen discussions and other game promos. I don't know if they'll get the chance to do a full demo or anything like that. A CGI trailer is usually all that developers get to show at the "main event" during these types of things, unless they wanted to do a more detailed "reveal" at their own booth. Just think Sony's event, with all the fluff and no substance... that's likely the template for what we'll see with Microsoft.

If Bioware is going to do their "deep, elaborate" reveal there, I'm not sure what that would look like.

Which then leaves either a Bioware-specific reveal (which isn't the greatest at generating big buzz like a con does) or E3... which will be like a cricket in a hornet's nest trying to be heard, especially if DA3 is not next-gen (and really FEELS next gen).

I don't know... PAX was the best shot at this, in my humble opinion. The other options don't look as appealing.

They are not going to reveal anything without an announcement at least one weak prior.

I also dont think that EA has a deal with Microsoft not allowing them to reveal DA:I before their X-Box event. It doesnt seem to be beneficial for neither of them.

Perhaps the PC version has some performance issues (they would have to lower the graphics), but the new X-Box might be such a beast, that its still able to run the game at its best graphics.
So maybe Bioware is waiting for the X-Box reveal, to be able to reveal their game on it.

But... i dont think this is very likely...

Unless EA is planning to show off its next gen games at GDC. Show off the power of the Frostbite 2 engine and reveal the new games, 2 birds, 1 stone.

Showing what FB2 can do on next gen hardware at GDC would make sense, because if they can impress enough people they could stand to earn a good bit of money licensing the engine. Further, what better way to show off what the engine can do, than with actual games built on the engine, like oh say, BF4 and DA3.

Yep, BF3 was revealed at GDC, and apparently BF4 is supposed to be revealed at GDC tomorrow.

The PS4 is basically on the higher end of budget gaming PCs. It's not a "beast."

I'm not acting smart.
It's just what he said made little sense.

I'm sure next gen consoles will have good hardware, and I'll even admit that they will likely be better than the average PC at the time, but still, there are MANY PC Gamers will high end rigs that are already 5x as powerful as next gen consoles.

How do you know how powerful the next Gen consoles are going to be?
I havent seen any benchmarks yet.

Lol, it'll probably be well beyond 200 at this rate!

I remember the same question coming up for 100 pages as well. How little we knew then... Image IPB

Actually I'm pretty sure we didn't really learn much of anything since then.... this is just a really sad sad sad thread of amazing ppl wanting DA3 info and sharing minute scraps that we stumble apon.

So I looked at GDC's website schedule about Bioware, and this is what I found.

3 sessions,
"Directed Generation: Procedural and Placeholder Content in BioWare Cinematics"

"Emotional Journey: BioWare's Methods to Bring Narrative into Levels"

"BioWare QA - Partners in Development (Embed Model)"

My guess is #1 or #3
