Still bad writing. Really bad. Also? Also...what? Just should have said, "Also, to look dashing."

I assume the writers aren't responsible for these marvelous quotes.

...and then I have to edit my own post, lol.

It's not bad writing when it's meant to be dialogue, especially snarky, stylized dialogue. Let's transcribe some Joss Whedon dialogue and see how it fares grammatically, eh?

Every time someone isn't invited into the Keep they get called a sad panda. I assume the stuffed panda head is the "warning". Or a reference to the godfather.

Yeah, I thought as much.

I like Dorian from what I've heard so far, so it will be between him and vivienne. As to who will be my Mage companion, unless Solas reveal is super awesome lol!

Random Thought: If Cole in DAI had the capacity to use magic, he'd be a... ROGUE MAGE. #badumptish #badDAIpuns #killmenow

I think Dorian will be the gay male companion just by the vibes I sense from his bio.  He is very "witty" as sharp as a blade,  he is an outcast of society and "proud" to be so, plus he obviously strives to be pretty.  Sounds like a gay pride participant to me.  And they placed his picture next to the lesbian Sera grouping them together.  I'm obviously speculating but that is my gut feeling and hope as well since I  have come to like Dorian the most.

So basically, he's a pile of stereotypes, so he must be gay?

I agree with Crono and wrote a similar (if much longer) post about the difference between more formal speech/formal writing versus more conversational spoken dialogue in that thread devoted to the supposed grammatical errors in the blurbs. The blurbs are okay as natural-sounding spoken dialogue that a character might utter in an informal situation.

Spoken dialogue is not always neat, tidy, or grammatically perfect as some people seem to think it should be every time a character opens his or her mouth. People speak differently in different social situations. You can be informal with friends but formal at work, etc.

"Also?"
What the hell? Is that even proper English? I'm no expert by that looks really off. Shouldn't it say:

"I'm here to set things right, well, also to look dashing, but that just comes naturally."

I feel like you're the sort of person who'd look over John Steinbeck's shoulder and say "Excuse me, but that sentence should read, 'We could live off the fat of the land.'"

Not that Dragon Age is comparable to Of Mice and Men, of course. Just pointing out that slang and improper sentence structure are often employed by writers - even seminal ones - when writing dialogue.

I think you'd want '****** Libanensis' ('Man of Lebanon') Hominis Libanus would be 'Lebanon of Man'. If I remember correctly.

EDIT: Though, judging from the filters you wouldn't have been able to. Curse the Greek prefix for Same being the same as the Latin word for man.

Is that such a bad thing? If he is the gay option (god willing, i'm planning to romance him on first play through with my male elf mage), I'm so glad that he seems to have personality and swagger and hasn't been made bland and inoffensive and politically correct ala Cortez. There's nothing wrong with characters with stereotypical qualities as long as they are rounded out and given depth. Flamboyant guys are hot.

Course Dorian likes defying expectations. Him being flamboyant, and that being stereotypically associated with gay men, may end up meaning he's straight as an arrow. lol

I wouldn't mind getting a guy with flamboyancy for the ladies, ofc. He kinda reminds me of Don Diego de la Vega. lol

Stereotypes are everywhere, if Iron Bull or Blackwall are straight at the end (like Vega from ME3 for example) that's also a stereotype.

We have a quite a lot of LGTB characters in Bioware: Steve, Samantha, Zevran, Isabela, Merrill, Fenris, Anders, Herren, Wade, Sera... Dorian, if gay, will be the first flamboyant (we still don't know him.... but let's asume he is that way) gay character ever.I like politically involved characters like him or Anders and I hope he successes where Anders failed as a character and "politician"....

Yep. B)
