Berserker isn't a spec in DAI.
Another strong hint for companions a having the same spec of the PC is the fact that Dorian is heavily hinted to be a Necromancer (as well as Solas seems to be a Rift mage).

"Heavily hinted" being one line in his description saying that he can elemental magics as well as command spirits and undead. - I would not call that a heavy hint. But to each their own.

And Solas 'seems to b a rift mage' by the the implication that he knows something about the fade.

And if that trend should stick it would mean that Vivienne should be a Knight Enchanter, something I really don't see happening. And I can't see why they would give one companion a unique specialization (or no specialization) and not the others.

I still think they will go the DA2 route wiht each companion having a unique tree for them. Though I admit I have seen nothing that particularly pointed either way in that regard.

There are nine specs, as the companions. If this theory is correct, there's nobody who'd get an unique spec.

Ew, I much preferred the DA2 route of them having specialized skill trees that you can't learn over the DAO "Let me teach you in seconds what took me years" route.

On this topic, it really isn't different between the games. You basically learn specs in a moment, and some of them doesn't event make sense to be learnt like this (Reaver, for example).
I'm fine either way, to be honest.

DA2 had nine playable spec and nine companions (if you include Sebastian) and only the siblings used any of those 9 specs.  In DAO, there was 12 spec and 10 companions, but only 7 of those spec came from the companions (Sten, Dog and Shale didn't grant any).

I don't think the number matching shouldn't be used as irrefutable proof.

I wasn't using as a proof. I was responding to the quote that seems to state that Some characters might get unique specs.

It's possible there will be a couple specializations taught by non-party member NPCs or learned from books, as was the case in DAO.

If they give Cass the Templar spec I'll be highly annoyed

I resigned myself of this outcome to happen. This way, I'll be pleasantly surprised if she isn't, and not be too much disappointed of she is.

I'm somewhat expecting it to happen, but I'll still end up being annoyed by it

If it turns out that people like Iron Bull (and Dorian/Solas) does have a spec like Reaver I hope it's a mix of both DAO and DA2 (like give Cass a Seeker spec, Cole a spirit-type spec, etc)

Nor did Wynne.  Spirit Healer could only be learned from a book purchased from Wonders of Thedas.  Then Warden's peak added a second possibility.

What if Blackwall gets the Templer spec? That means Cass could get champion.

Good luck with that.  Unfortunately, maybe it is time for you to request cloing this thread.

Is there any other place (besides Twitter) to go for Bioware tweets without the annoyingly tedious banter?

The devs don't Tweet as much on the weekends so it's fine as long as they don't clog the information flow in this thread.

I might get this wrong, but this thread has always been the main source of news for Inquisition. Which a lot of the times actually comes via Twitter. So, of course that will bring a lot of banter. People want to discuss the tweets, don't they?

This is meant to be a live feed, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

Alternatively, I'm sure some people here (Lady Sif and Hrungr, maybe?) use custom Twitter lists to keep track of dev comments, and that could be worth following on the website.

Can you comment on whether we will have an item like DA2's mirror of transformation in DAI?

Not right away. It's something we will look at after launch

Noooooo, y u do this to me Bioware? Now I'll have to restart everytime my character's nose needs to be adjusted! And I can't Change my hairstyle whenever I want. :crying:

At least during the first two or three playthroughs...

I'm hoping the CC will have "natural" lighting/setting and the ability to zoom in and out fully so we can at least have a better chance of "getting it right" the first time...

Lets just hope there isn't one looong cut-scene before we enter CC.
