I'm sure DA3 on FB2 will look pretty enough. Hopefully they didn't go full on cartoon though. That would almost completely make me lose my interest in the series.

If it doesn't. Well, that's good.

FB3 hardly looks any better than FB2 and frankly it's just a marketing ploy to sell people the same game they bought in 2011. 'Destruction 4.0' is the same way.

It certainly does. I'm just sad that I'll probably only be able to run DA III on very low settings, if at all 

Still early to say what the requirements will be, but even on low settings it'll probably still look pretty good.

Not to be a total downer but we have no clue if DA3 will be going for that sort of realistic look. For all we know it'll be on Frostbite 3 but heavily stylized. So it might not be a very fruitful exercise getting worked up over how realistic or gorgeous BF4 looks when we don't know if DA3 is going to try a similar visual approach.


I mean, just because its being made on the same engine as Battlefield doesn't mean it'll end up looking as good. It very well may, but the most recent Army of Two game that came out the other day was made on Frostbite 2 and doesn't look so hot.

An engine is only going to be as good as the people using it.

That's because it only released on console. 

DA3 will look best on a PC, but I'm sure they'll make the console version look quite good(Especially if it is indeed next gen). I hear GoW looks pretty good despite being a console game.

@hahagirl727 I don't think a game like DAI is aiming at photorealism, so I wouldn't expect it to look like that (even thogh lightning can do wonders).

Can't actually watch the video supplied, so I'll supply my own, I suppose:


I'd rather now if I am allowed to swim in the water, not how realistically it is repilcated. I don't care how realistic the buildings look, I want to know if I ram a tank into it, if it will crumble. I don't care how realistic the snow looks... I'd rather know that if there is snow on the ground, my boots will make a crunch, or if I lie still, will it cover me up and make me blend in so that the AI would not see me?

Will I be able to climb a ladder? Or open a door? Will I be able to open EVERY door, or will there be corridors of magically locked doors to never use? I could care less if wind could make a flag blow in the breeze (BTW, the video I supplied has a flag frozen, mid-breeze blow... for a video showcasing grpahic and engine fidelity, that kind of stuck out to me) but rather if wind will affect my shot with a bow and arrow, or a gun.

And perhaps Frostbite 3 will do all of that, in addition to the crazy graphics. If so, cool. Show me THAT. Don't show me slightly polished shiny stuff. I think substance would be much more beneficial.

I know.. Seeing those graphics got me a bit over excited. Any DA3 news makes me giddy

guys I just don't know who to say it to all my friends are out of the city on some projects or gone home to have a good time over the break I have some exams to finish my degree so I have to stay here and study but the sad part is that my girl left me after a 3 year long relationship I am sorry to be a cry baby but you are the only ones who are here for me and I am rly thankful for that ...
doesn't matter if you care or no but I just wanted you to know that this social network is one of the best if not the best i have been a member of off keep up the good work and stay strong until the reveal comes and for the bioware team I just have to say you have the best games i have ever played please keep up the good work I believe in you as do I believe in your fans you know the moto : In War, Victory. In Peace, Vigilance. In Death, Sacrifice

I've learned to temper my expectations concerning 'in game' demonstrations after the fiasco that was Colonial Marines. That said, the trailer looks fantastic. Also I was very impressed with the demo of Army of 2: III and that's using Frostbite 2, so if Dragon Age: I is using Frostbite 3, then it could be quite the coup.

To further extrapolate on Frostbite 3's influence on the next DA game: does this not all but guarantee that DA:I is a next gen game?

I have to admit, theres a small part of me that hopes DA3's graphics are better than Skyrim or TW2/3, just so the DA fans can be the ones rubbing the pretty graphics in peoples faces for a change.

Apparently FB3 is compatible with current-gen consoles.

As much as I love The Witcher and Skyrim it would be great to finally have something to rub in my friends faces lol:P
