I wasn't being self-serving, I neither hate nor love Cullen.

However, if you are going to get incredibly worked up and derogatory towards Cullen fans who aren't, in the end, going to affect your gameplay, or make Bioware dump all plot for romance simulation, or force you to make out with Cullen, and you will merely blast people who like Cullen as dumb fangirls (while also implying that people who like Cullen are all 14 yr old girls looking to find fulfillment with code instead of a fleshy real life man), then you are a troll.

This is not being self-serving. This is not being an insufferable butt and an example of what is wrong with the internet.

Meh, I wasn't offended at all and I'll openly admit that I'm a fan-girl. He doesn't tickle everyone's pickle. Nor do I have any trouble getting laid in real life lol. Either way, I find the whole thing hilariously amusing.

If you use someone's liking/ defense of Cullen as an excuse to harp aggressively about it which has been done on like, 5 other locked threads already and I would prefer to have this thread stay open, so let us agree to diasgree and move on from here, please?

Reading a post you disagree with is considered an... excuse, to respond? Not a reason to post? That's odd. In any case, I'm sure there will be plenty more discussions about Cullen to be had once his character even officially exist and isn't known simply because Titanic's Greg Ellis doesn't know what an NDA means.

I have never understood the Cullen fascination. I didn't get on the forums until well after I had played DA:O, so I was really surprised to see that he has his own Andraste/Reaver-like cult of followers. It's not that I'm surprised to see character worship in general, I completely understand the Alistair, Morrigan, or Fenris stuff: these are all main characters that are prominent in the games. Cullen, however was barely in the first game and merely a supporting roll at best in the second.

I don't think there's a female character equivelant of Cullen. Maybe I should try to build one up to his level. How about Lanaya from DA:O? Or we could actually go even more obscure...how about Sophia Dryden from the Origins DLC? Is there any interest out there for either of these two?

How can you even get a sense of who Cullen is and what he's about from such limited interaction?  Unless he's really just that hunky in the looks department and this is the sole cause for fan obsession.  I admit he's a good looking dude, but if that's the case I still want a female equivelant.  I have yet to see an in-game character model of a female that was soooo good looking that I started my own blog about her.

True, there is a "Bethany Romance" mod out there that should surprise absolutely no one. Though I wouldn't compare wanting to romance a minor character (or really liking a minor character) with wanting to romance your sister
