I think you're reading too much into it. Cullen is a minor character that barely has things to do in the span of 2 games.If you're a mage in Origins, you have one brief conversation with him in the prologue and then one more in the Broken Circle quest line and if you're not a mage, you just get the Broken Circle convo. In DA2, he gets a quest going and at the end defies Meredith - besides that, he just takes up space in the Gallows and says lines at you if you feel the need to talk to him. He's not really present in any other way.

 

I took the question to be something like "this is a character that has very little face time and very little to do in comparison to others and, yet, people love him just as much as those (hence the hashtag), what are your thoughts on that, why do you think that is".

Eh, not too miffed. It always sounds kind of artificial when you adjust the pitch of a voice.

 

It's a tricky thing to pull off.  I think it works better in a game like Saints Row where, if your voice is absurdly hilarious, still fits the game quite well.

They would not have spent the thousands and thousands of dollars required to model, write, and voice a character with a role as large as Cullen's if his inclusion was purely fanservice ("fanservice"). Heck, even the fanservice ("fanservice") they gave Morrigan's fans via Witch Hunt only featured her for, like, five minutes. If they didn't have a reason to include Cullen in DAI, in the role he assumes, then they wouldn't have included him. Fullstop. Any fanservice ("fanservice") you think is being...served (?) here would have otherwise been an extended cameo with maybe some flirting.

So it is just me or they reveal only the GSM romance characters in the Interviews and video and not the straight ones? Like we have Iron Bull, Sera, Dorian and we know to some extent what are their preferences but Cullen and Cassandra nothing. So I am gonna to assume that they are straight but it is still weird.

 

The only Love interest sexualities confirmed are Sera and Dorian, both gay. This is the first DA game with homosexual romances, so perhaps Bioware want to let their gay fans and potential fans know that they will be represented and included in the game? As there has always been straight romances in the game, it isn't as important an announcement. That's my thoughts on it, anyway.

You are probably right, that would make a lot more sense. Either way I kinda find Cullen hot now but I have no interest in him, still his armor is really cool. maybe it is the armor fault hummm.

Playing a comically high pitched Nolan North or a comically low pitched Laura Bailey probably wouldn't mesh with dramatic scenes too well.

Seriously? Are we really judging an unreleased game on posted screenshots  and graphics rather than story and content?

 

It's not possible to judge an unreleased game on it's story or content because we have not experienced either. My eyes have experienced the fur on Cullen's coat first hand now, and it looks like something from my old PS2.

Well, the game's release is creeping ever closer so I think it's reasonable to expect that the quantity of information released from now will at least be consistent with current levels. Even if we have a small dry spell, the bright side is that the marketing blitz should really kick in come mid-August/September!
