I think BioWare got enough questions regarding romances as it is.

We know that there are 8 all together.

We know of:

 

Cassandra

Cullen

Josephine

Sera

Dorian

 

There are still three that we know nothing about. Don't be impatient. All will be revealed in good time.

Dragonaging on tumblr posted that one of the yet unrevealed LI's will be neither a companion or an advisor, and that Bioware implied that either IB or Blackwall will be a bi romance (#ridethebull!)

 

So IF these are true, then we know that:

Cassandra is straight

Cullen is straight

Sera is gay

Dorian is gay

Josephine is bi

Iron Bull OR Blackwall is bi

One romance is neither with a companion or advisor

 

Two of the eight romances will be race gated. My guess would be that Varric is the 8th romance, and that he's only interested in female dwarves (but what do I know, right?), and that Josephine is only into humans or elves. I don't know, but it feels like the politically suave nobleborn would try and avoid a political scandal by being in a relationship with a qunari. Then again, I'm basing these assumptions on absolutely nothing and have no idea what I'm talking about, most likely.  <- This is wrong, and Josephine is seemingly down with anything. Hooray for open-mindness!

I'd say that the second Race-Gated Romance would probably be something like Anora in DA:O. But that's just my personal guess.

 

Definitely crossing my fingers that Varric is a Dwarf-F race-gate romance though. Would definitely go through the game with that character just on those grounds.

Solas- Bisexual

Iron Bull- Race Gated

Dagna- Race Gated

 

This would be eight romances, five of the which are confirmed and we know that one romance is not a companion and adviser, also, Dagna had just been revealed of returning, I find this oddly fitting.

 

I figured Varric would not be romanceable *Bro for life*, Blackwall seemed more like a mentor and with his calling *I presume would come up* I don't think he would have time for it, Cole is mentally a child and was confirmed to not be a LI and of course Vivienne. She comes across as someone who doesn't have time for it as well, like Laidlaw stated, Some just don't got time for your sheet.

 

My personal opinions *Shrugs* I was right so far! If I am right I'm buying myself a cake. Woo...cake.

i feel the gated one would be iron bull despite his playboy-ishness maybe going with only other qunari and or non mage characters. The former due to practicality if sten convo with morrigan is to be believe, and latter, more likely, due to his fear of demons and qun upbringing.

I'd wager that the two race gated ones will be in the form of them not being down for one specific combination of gender/race, NOT them ONLY being down with a specific combination of gender/race.

 

Using IB as an example, it would make far more sense for Bioware to make it so that only dwarves miss out rather than having him available only to qunari Inquisitors.

 

Spending money and resources on content that only a very small percentage of players would even see vs. spending money and resources on content that a very small percentage would miss out on.
