There was one thing, though, that disappointed me: Lack of detail in the icons of the items in the inventory. It was like how DA2 did it. When you have, say, a Helmet in your inventory, it looks like a crude cartoon drawing of a Helmet, instead of what the helmet actually looks like.
Apparently all pieces of armor will look differently depending on which companion have it equipped, so I guess it's easier for the icons to look that way.

This is a bit of a misconception. There is at least one character who is not a companion or an advisor whom you can flirt with. When Cameron said that there were eight romances, he was referring to eight romances within the companions and advisors.
So, rejoice or not as you see fit.

It could and maybe should, but we don't know for sure that there are even numbers of male to female LIs. Devs have stated not everything is necessarily fair, and some things may be skewed for some characters due to race gating.
That said, this is a discussion that should be taken to the Romance Discussion thread, or maybe Vivienne's character thread.

I BELIEVE combos are still mostly or entirely cross-class. But still, blowing stuff up with my mind is pretty cool.
