I assume that's in the Heroes of DA office, not in ours. Unless someone is hiding all the junk food from me.

Silly character creator. Let me zoom in on my character's face.
@eplerjc Make a trash one, then logout, then make a real one. Zoom will work for 2nd. Bug.
@Mike_Laidlaw Gotcha. I will try this.
I think this was for Elder Scrolls Online... haha

Just as an addendum to the video from long ago, Mike's point was that "People will expect a small area of the map such as a local region, but we'd like to cover a much bigger area of the map."
The timeline of that video being posted puts my own work to "welcome to Frostbite!" where I couldn't definitively state where we'd be going in the game. At that point we were mostly doing technical evaluations of the engine and learning what we'd need to deliver a BioWare game experience.

The Heroes of Cosplay stuff probably extends beyond the mandate of this thread. I think it's a think Jessica and Holly do, and I don't think BioWare nor EA are even really involved in it.

I really don't know how they handle it some times, I mean we are all deeply excited at the game they are making but I admit we all do overwhelm them, it's surprising they don't end up snapping from all the pressure.
I think we have to be certifiably crazy to be in game development in the first place.

If I was a dev, I would love the wave of questions just so I could giggle evilly and answer almost NONE of them. Then I'd look through the forums and cackle at everything I knew was wrong but everyone speculated about anyways.
I mean really, there must be worse things than knowing that thousands of people are so excited about the game you're working hard on that they're desperate for information months before release. Maybe it wears on them after a while but that would be amazing to me.

I just saw this.
Pretty unclear 'information' though, since Wales is part of Britain. So it's not clear if he's saying there will be a Welsh option or whether he just means English when he says British. Either way, there will also be an American accent available for the Inquisitor.
Well, we've heard one voice so far so I suppose it'd be up to you for determining whether or not that is the British or American accent. (I have no clue if it's English or Welsh or what have you).

Yeah, but it depends on what is meant by "new". I believe that was posted before the articles revealed Solas and Iron Bull. And that post came about when only Varric, Cassandra, and Vivienne were confirmed and everyone was wondering if they would be covered for the first three months.
I don't know who they plan to move onto next, actually, but I will say that "new" is not judged in terms of people on our forums who collect every scrap of information and consider followers they actually know little about--or have only seen a screenshot of--to be old news.
If you're waiting for something completely new that you've never even heard a hint of, and you're someone who's been spoiling themselves silly by analyzing every scrap you could possibly unearth, you may very well be waiting for quite some time. ![]()

As far as I remember, Bioware never said they'll give any cash prizes. The prize was getting flown to a city with one of their recording studios, they'll pay for your accommodations and you'll get your voice in Inquisition. That's it. Where does the paid work come in? Why do you think people assume there's going to be a cash prize and will be disappointed when they don't get it? Did I miss something?
Even so, can't people just be fans of a thing and want to be a part of it without getting bags of money out of it? I know I wouldn't mind lending my voice to the game because the emotional satisfaction of contribution a little piece of myself to it would be enough.
I think the posts were more directed to the ideas that professional voice actors would enter into something like this for their own personal benefits, and I'd be inclined to agree that the large term implications of this would be limited. If a professional voice actor applied for something like this, they'd possibly be disappointed if it was for any other reason than fun IMO.

Well now we know he's lying. There are no good people in DayZ. It's a bastard simulator.
That just means he shoots a lot of people then!

I'm simultaneously afraid and pleased.
Everyone please remember, this doesn't mean he's a companion! Don't get your hopes up too much, I don't want to see your tears feed the developers if it turns out he isn't.

While you're here could you tell us if he is a companion? I don't want to get my hopes up any higher than they already are.
I'm unable to confirm nor deny anything like that. Sorry ![]()

Yeah, I have vague memories of Gaider saying that scribe girl wasn't a companion aswell.
It must be vague, as I never said any such thing. I said that not every person in that concept picture was a companion.
But I'd avoid being overjoyed about the "confirmed" Cullen companion and LI until we've actually heard something about it from the devs. We can't be sure it's true unless they say it is.
That is wise.

edit: verboten cullen discussion is verboten.
It's not forbidden. If this Twitter thread is to exist, however, speculation regarding the tweets themselves needs to be kept to a minimum...as there's a whole other forum for discussion of particular topics. If this thread gets used for excessive discussion about the tweets, rather than for reporting tweets so people who don't use Twitter can see them, then it will be shut down.

If Ryan wants to post the specific details of his problem, maybe with lots of screenshots and even videos of all the gameplay prior to the crash, I'm certain we can help solve it.
I can see it now: "Make the game darker! No, darker! Wait, not that dark. Just greyer. DARKER! Wait..." ![]()

Anita's video is aimed at an introductory level. If there is anything that I personally didn't care for it, was that it wasn't aimed at me. It wasn't hostile. It's one part of the general discussion which has many facets, and to be frank is likely responsible for getting the ball rolling. The reaction to Anita was an eye opening event for me.
But, the comparison to Anita is NOT necessary, and further posts that seek to denigrate her work in an attempt to build up Manveer's post will not be tolerated here. This is the only warning I will give.
