I literally could not get an airport employee to answer my question. After persisting, one of them vaguely waved in a direction. OMG.

I'll just say that AA is suspiciously good at rebooking, making meal vourchers and finding an hotel at 10 PM 
I'm going to San diego in a bout a week, (will be coming back home just before comic con starts). On the way back I fly to LA from San Diego and then back to Edmonton. I'm now thinking I was clever to get about a 3 1/2 hour lay over in LA before the Edmonton flight. (I can remember when flying was actually fun.)
