She is.

As a French player who likes to have the English version of RPGs (we have lots of good VA but sometimes the translation work is terrible) I must say I look forward to hearing the orlesian accent again. Always so.... weird. :P  I mean I certainly have an accent when speaking English and I even have a friend who can't pronounce the Rs in a proper way when he speaks English but when I played The Mark of the Assassin (DA2 DLC), I laughed each time an Orlesian said something !

Despite speaking perfect English, I insist on pronouncing my middle name Robert with the French "R" :P

haha ! Nice !

The only word I can't bring myself to speak the English way is Orlais. Because in English you pronounce it "Orlay" and it doesn't feel French -I know Orlais is supposed to be just inspired by France and doesn't need to stick to it all the way- and it resembles Orléans too much. So what the translators did for the French version, and for once I liked this choice very much, is pronounce it Orlaïs which is pronounced "Or-Lah-Iss". Much better. :)

I just pronounce it Or-les with the "or" sounding like the French word for gold "or" and the "les" sounding like the French article "les".

Orlais sounds much more French than Orlaïs. In fact, the reason it was changed in the French version probably was to try to keep a foreign feel to the country.

I've watched both parts of the demo now and I cannot wait until October, this game looks so good, and I'm sure the story is also brilliant. I haven't been this excited for a game since ME3.

Leliana is my favourite Li in the series so far, mainly because of her sexy accent, I'm quite sad that she isn't romanceable in inquisition if she wasn't romanced in origins.

I don't know. I must admit I like Orlaïs better but to each his own. ^^ Take Redcliffe for example. They say the village got its name from the color of the stone and soil where the village was bilt. So the translator could have named it Rougefalaise (weird but litteral translation) or kept the name Redcliffe, why not... instead they chose "Golefalois", which not only doesn't keep the original meaning of the name but definitely sounds "orlesian".

I don't like when people translate names of places. They should just keep the original. It could be this way with the skills too. It's not only about games, but books, movies and everything else. Redcliffe here will be "Rocha Vermelha" (it's portuguese), which literally translates to "Red Rock".

It's true that "Orlaïs" sounds like a bus terminal in southern Paris metropolitain area, but I prefer the "Orlais" as it's closer to "Orléans".

Might be best to take the accent discussion to a different thread.

Perhaps they'll reveal a French VA for Blackwall? He's from Val Chevin, which is part of Orlais, yes? I can't really picture any accent coming out of him that isn't Orlesian, to be honest. I'm personally hoping for Stephane Cornicard. Sure, it might be silly coming across another warden voiced by the guy, but that certainly won't stop me from enjoying his voice.

*sigh* Hope we get some LI reveals later today at the GaymerX panel on romance. I need something, anything, to distract me from this godawful heat we've been having lately. :(

I doubt there won't be any Men French VA. They just don't seem to be in the main group...though Blackwall might be have one.

Marc Alfos (rest in peace) would have been a very good choice for Blackwall !

Or Richard Darbois !  Or Benoit Allemane !

Do we know if he's from the Anderfels?
As far as I know there's nothing yet on his country, so it's possible he's Orlesian.

I don't think we have any idea where Blackwall is from originally. Could be just about anywhere, but I'd bet on either Orlais or the Anderfels.

Don't family names in Orlais usually include "of" as in "de"?
