I, too, think that Varric seems like a good candidate for a race-gated LI.

 

But that would mean neither Solas nor Blackwall for my Quizzy I don't know if I could live with that.

 

(Just for the record, Varric is probably my second favourite character in the DA games thus far, so this is saying something about how excited I am for the characters in this game.)

Wasn't it said that The Trevelyan House was a rather minor one? I mean being involved with the saviour of the world will get you up the social ladder all right, but i think restricting it to the human nobles would be kinda silly.

Besides, I don`t think it matters how influential your family is when you are Lord Inquisitor. As Lord Inquisitor you are in charge of a lot of a lot more then petty politics.

I don't now how important they are to be interely honest, but it will always be more than how noble a mage is, as for the restriction to humans, it would be explainable by the fact that she is orlesian, and if I remember correctly, the wiki says that orlesians have no problem with relationships (hetero or gay) as long as it stays with the same race when it comes to nobles, and Viv being the court mage, she would probably behave as a noble would. At least that's what I think.
