Didn't Leliana already have banter with Dorian in the party
He meant that you can´t take them with you in the party, ergo you won´t have any party banter with them in that aspect. But it´s not like they are gonna ignore other party members, in this case , Dorian if you have them in a mission and they talk to them etc...
