You can't play games at work and it is easier to find time to get on forums and post little things or look up stuff. A quick glance and planning so when they have time when they are home and no one or anyone to get in their way to play it.

Also they may want to play or read other games that they also have little time for. Not everyone has copious amounts of free time and have to plan it all out so they can enjoy it no matter how short or long it is.

So having all the information on hand from the start helps, it allows them to focus more on playing instead of pausing and taking them time durring their free time.

This is very true. I have two kids, a husband, a house to take care of, double shifts at work, and school. I have very little free time, and what little free time I do get is precious. It's nice to know things ahead of time so I can plan my game accordingly, without having to reload saves from far back in the game, or start completely over.

Why is it such a big deal to talk in this thread during non-business hours when their are very few relevant tweets? Even the few tweets that do come through are for giggles and don't provide new info anyway. It's very easy to check the time/date to skim ahead until you hit work hours so you don't have to read the rest.

Being serious, no attitude intended but I must say that they only post that bother me are the rude "this is off topic" ones.

This is rather easy to answer. I usually don't comment off topic in here but it has started to irk me that somehow people wishing for a thread to fulfil it's intended purpose is "rude" while other treat it as their personal thoughts and musings thread is considered hunky dory.

It's the twitter thread. When most people check this thread, they want to read the latest post from the Devs and marketing that they don't have the time keep track of themselves. Instead what happens is that people have to sift through tons of comments that are not tweets. A lot of times they aren't even pertaining to a tweet. It's inane chatter that is able to fit perfectly into any of the other threads on the forums. I'm not against it, per say, but it has it's place. Not on the twitter thread.

That is the honest answer. If you wish to comment, please PM me so this thread is not taken off topic.

To those of you who agree with me, all I can suggest is that you make good use of the ignore function of the forums. It's cut down a lot on the sifting I have to do.

Personally I would prefer a Twitter Chatter Thread so we could enjoy one another's company while we wait between Tweets. I still like making the separate discussion threads for the "Which would you prefer" tweets because that warrants a new thread, but some of the funniest posts I read in this thread were made by us and not  from a tweet.

 

If one was started would the very talented and speedy tweet posters be willing to help?

It would just be a matter of posting in 2 threads instead of 1 when we post a tweet. I don't do the majority of them or post as many as I used to anymore, but when I do I wouldn't mind posting in both. You could also keep an eye on this one, then if for some reason something doesn't get posted to the chatter thread, you could copy it on over.

But if you're suggesting another places for people to posts twitter posts, you might find that it falls under one of the forum rules (like multiple threads of the same thing) and it ends up merged or deleted. Or they delete/close this thread, which I don't think many want. lol

Might be helpful to talk to a mod before creating it.

It won't be the same because it specifically for chattering about the twitter, and that means this thread can be home to pure tweets and no more off topic posts.

A Twitter chatter thread would get locked, probably. Why the need for a duplicate thread?

 

Nowhere on the forum are you allowed to just post random things and chat about them, except in the off-topic section (and maybe the Cullen thread). 

 

Talking about the tweets is great. It's always been great. I think some people have an issue, though, with conversations that have nothing to do with the content of the tweet, or that become two people basically chatting about something completely irrelevant. If there's no news, you don't need to post to fill the silence. It's also not a "post anything you like and start a conversation about it" topic. Try Google, or posting elsewhere on the forum. 

 

There are (literally) hundreds of people who read this for information but never post, and I think they have just as big a stake in the thread as the people who post here - and if you're coming here for news, a three-page discussion about release dates in Europe and Australia is just stupendously off-topic.
