Are voices recorded early or later in development? These things could really give us an idea about the state of the game.

I also wanted to comment on the GI thing. 

If you go to the GI DA2 hub, you'll see that it wasn't very far into development. 
The little insider video still showed a lot of early designs and such and the first screenshots were obviously early.

This gives me a little hope about DA3 being revealed soon. Though I know Bioware said they want to show more than they did with DA2. We'll see I guess.

Well Greg Ellis posted a picture of him finishing up a VO session a few months ago. Sooo I guess it depends.

I think it can be a little bit of both. I remember seeing something about some voices being recorded early in development, but simple stuff like grunts and war cries and such. I'm pretty sure things like dialogue is recorded later in development after the characters are confirmed to be in the game.

I'd think that, if the writing hasn't been completed, the VO couldn't possibly have all been recorded.    Now that Gaider's on sabbatical maybe they're getting to the point where the actors can start admitting to being in the studio.  Wouldn't that be a refreshing change from dev torture tease tweets?
