And true! The last engine was a joke, and there is really no way to suger coat that fact. It just couldn't hold a candle to pretty much ANY other engine out there. I'm happy beyond words that the FrostBite engine is being used!
Oh, and the repeating dungeon thing, I mean really. It was idiotic beyond words. If you're going to use the same environment, at least have enough sense to disguise it somehow with different colors and textures. Jeez.
In any case, great news on both fronts.

Sebastian's dungeon in his quest was a reskinned version of the regular dungeons weren't they?
They should have switched back and forth.

... I never noticed. *sheepish*
Then again, I was one of the few who didn't clue in to the reused caves and estates my first play through until other people pointed it out on the forums. ): My observational skills must be pretty terrible.
Regardless, I kind of consider running into the same estate/house to be pretty forgivable in terms of level design. My uncle and I used to live in identical houses when we lived in the same neighborhood .___. and I mean identical, the only difference was the paint job, so I consider it to be more realistic than 'recycling'? XD Even if that wasn't the initial intention. Having 3-4 layouts with varying props/wallpaper/flooring would be an improvement over the DA2 estates though... the prop changes in DA2 were pretty spot on, but I didn't notice any changes to the floor tiles and walls (besides weathering for run down estates) between levels.
The caves were a bit more noticeable, but I guess Sebastian's dungeon quest kind of proves that a paint job can do a lot for a reused level. XD

Yep, this. I think the first time I noticed was in my 2nd playthrough. And probably the main reason I noticed is cos the minimap was the same.
Changing textures + hiding part of the map that aren't being used would go a long way in allowing them to reuse some work.

LOL You're not the only one! I've been convinced that the recycled maps were for the benefit of people like me who have no spatial perception and so entering the cave through a different door really made it look like a totally different cave. It took me forever before I noticed.

LOL, yeah, it wasn't until my third play-through that I started going, "Wow, this looks like the same cave on Sundermount..."

LOL! I'm glad it wasn't just me!
... I only noticed on my 5th playthrough, when I done a bunch of the cave related quests one after another and then it finally dawned on me.

With all this talk of chairs in the twitter threads (particularly Mark Darrah's), I now expect some sort of chair joke in the game. Perhaps Sandal could say, "Bad chairs..." or something of that sort.
Bioware, make it happen.
Could be the whole "asschabs" thing again, maybe?

Me: "Wait... if we charged money for romance DLC, wouldn't that make us pimps?" Sheryl: "THAT WOULD BE AWESOME."
Oddly, everyone still seems to think we were talking about *extra* romances in DLC, as opposed to *only* in DLC. Wishful thinking, I guess?
EDIT: Yep, definitely joking. Now I just feel silly...

Also comfy chairs, cheese wheels, Australian-versus-Canadian-butt-cheek-etiquette, steak and some kind of plague spread only through kissing.
Normal week, then.
