This isn't really a matter of opinion. By definition, Option A and Option B (in your example) can both be called choices.

Not that your definition is wrong by any means, but neither is mine.

If your going off that then technically there is 450 choices in the keep (if it's all based on either option a option b ) which is to choose option a, b or choosing both on separate world states. It's a dangerous road going down that route though as technically speaking you could argue for countless amounts of potential choices.

Definition 3 Also is open to interpretation, as even in its definition it is based off either past or future tense. Meaning that while you may have chosen, or choose an option like the book/student for award the actual choice had already taken place from the initial number of book options or in the case of the student the choice is yet to be made between all the candidate options but a preference is being stated.Both are used in analysis based off an original choice but that does not mean that another choice can be made, it merely makes us aware that other options were potential choices. If one was to go back in time for the book or change their mind for the student the choice is still made from the same set of variables the only difference is the outcome ie the option chosen.

 

Definition 4 also does not relate to your cause though it is a way of promoting that when the original choice was/is made there were/are other options maybe unknown to the chooser or used in a way of arguing against if they claimed they had no choice or arguing a case for a better option.

 

I'm not having a go at you personally, the death of language is something that is bothering me, words are fast loosing their meaning and the English language, once the closest to a true scientific language (needed in order to truly advance society so that interpretation of words/meaning becomes obsolete) is now being dumbed down year by year because of gross misuse and the increasingly amount of abbreviated words that carry no true meaning. For example when the true expression Minister of Parliament is used it also triggers more activity  in the brain and creates healthier links to memory further increasing it's ability to differentiate and is linked with intelligence because instead of just considering MP the brain recognises the Minister of Parliament as two different objects, 1 the person and 2nd parliament and then how the two link together. These are things everyone is guilty of to some degree so i try my best to point it out when i see it and hope others do the same for myself (as it's a lot harder to notice that way)
