5 Bucks for a demo of DA:I seems like a really flimsy reason to buy to buy a whole console.

I mean, there's an awful lot of things to think about when buying a console apart from whether or not it gets you into a game five days earlier.

Well, it's not just for that. I'm also really interested in Sunset Overdrive, an XB1 exclusive.

 

Point is, I was already gonna buy an Xbox One or the PS4 for DAI anyways, but Sunset Overdrive plus playing DAI early tips the scales towards Xbox One.

Personally I'm sticking with a WiiU+PC combo because it's obvious most Xbone exclusives will coem to PC a year or two later, but PS4 has a way bigger library coming up man. I'd rethink your decision.

 

Also man EA really loves giving people no real reason to use Origin besides the hostage situation they have with their games on there. /offtopic

Yeah, ultimately I think the PS4 is a superior product and MGSV, Uncharted 4, the legend of the concept of the notion of the release of FFXV, and so forth will definitely be purchased on it, when I get it, next year. But I'm unabashedly buying a new console strictly so that I can get Dragon Age: Inquisition to look sharper this November, and I feel l like between the fact that I'd probably enjoy the Halo series and the timed exclusivity DLC deal EA struck with Microsoft, I will probably get an X1 first.

In all honesty, it comes down to the exclusives for me. If KH3 and FFXV were coming out this year, I'd definitely be getting a ps4, but I'll be getting the Xbox because of the early access as well as the timed DLC for DAI.

Yeah, precisely. I mean, our list of most-hyped PS4 exclusives might be somewhat different, but it's the same concept to me. I'm going to end up owning both, which is both intensely logical and utterly silly depending on how you look at it since the rationale there is that I am really, really picky about the games I enjoy (so why spend so much on hardware?) but as usual (and understandably) those games are spread out between systems, so to get the most of my hobby, I ought to spring for 'em all. I own a Wii U for Xenoblade Chronicles X, the next Legend of Zelda game, and Smash, and basically nothing else, so I'm no stranger to this pattern. I bought a PS2 strictly for Final Fantasy X and Xenosaga Episode I back in the day.

Don't do it, John Epler!  I know from experience when you get a set and then become attached to them and then break one you are then devastated because the company from which your wife bought them is out of business.
