Signs point to 'entertaining'.
I should probably use this precognition thing for productive purposes.

I really don't think any of us are expecting any sort of solid announcements about what will be in the game and whatnot this early on, but I would be happy to have some sort of solid confirmation that I will be able to play it on my Xbox 360. I know we are ASSUMING it will, but I'm not looking for assumptions, I'm wanting solid firm answers from BioWare...

Laidlaw and Darrah are still saying that the game is coming Fall/Winter 2013. Even if the game is set to launch in the middle of December(which is highly unlikely) going this long without revealing the game and starting pre-orders is very uncharacteristic of BioWare and EA.

You're right but maybe Bioware and EA want to approach DA3 differently.
EA knows the target market for BF4 are a bunch of sheep and will lap up any MP FPS so it's a good idea to make it pre-orderable asap, but DA3 is different. EA and Bioware know DA2 didn't sit well with many fans(I love it but I know it caued some problems). They're probably trying something new now.

Doing nothing is certainly a different approach to marketing.

What I meant is maybe starting Marketing later and not over hyping it with CGI and such.

Hype sells units. Subtlety does not. Marketing is about getting products into as many peoples' face-holes as possible.
nope, marketing is about getting an attractive product into as many peoples face holes, and if Bioware think they need to wait more so DA3 can be attractive then so be itBasilKarlo wrote...

I'm curious as to why people say there is no presentable content. Also, marketing takes many different forms, just because they aren't showing us anything doesn't mean a 2013 release date is doomed and it doesn't mean they have nothing to show us either. I think that they don't want to show anything yet until they believe the content they have is worthy. I'm sure they want to show us something but they don't want people to make assumptions and later say "Bioware lied to us, the stuff in the trailer wasn't in the game".BasilKarlo wrote...

If the game doesn't have any presentable content at this point in time then there's no chance it's coming out this year. What do you think this discussion is about?
define presentable, and while you're at it find me a game that showed actual polished non-beta footage 8 or so months before release.BasilKarlo wrote...

Lack of teasing is currently because we had bug week, planning for the next milestone, DA Week, and canceled sprint review day (so we could spend more time doing all of those things). Next sprint starts on Monday so it's back to business as usual and you'll see more teasing. Especially next sprint review day.
That seems like a possibility. Also, I don't really mind them not showing us anything, to me it means they're working hard on the game instead of working hard on some trailer or something.Conduit0 wrote...
There is at least a small possibility that they're waiting for the release of the World of Thedas book before they officially reveal DA3. The book will help hyping up the game, and the game reveal will get people interested in the book.

I assume it's a week where they look at the game and find the bugs and fix them.LolaLei wrote...
