@Mike_Laidlaw I noticed a timer for some of the war table missions. Is it gonna be real time? Or is it faster than real time?
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw 7m
The war table is real time, but there are ways in the game to speed it up. Those was are NOT "money", before anyone asks.
I see my tweet made it to the famous twitter thread ![]()
Thank you for answering, Mike.

Taking some time to interact with fans that are excited and supportive is literally a cathartic event that helps me deal with stress of being super busy.
And many (if not most?) of us love you (and the other devs!) for it.
Which is really something we info hungry fans should keep in mind, too. Keeping our forums discussions and tweets, etc, as stress free and positive/constructive as possible really does go a long way for keeping all parties involved happy.

How do you write a villain? We asked #DAI's writers to find out: http://bit.ly/Vt1aWn
So @davidgaider , Luke Kristjanson and I did a Q&A about writing antagonistic characters. If you'd like a look: http://www.dragonage.com/#!/en_US/news/writing-villains?utm_campaign=da-social-global-ic-tw-social-global-ic-tw-villains-interview-img-site-ramp&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&sourceid=da-social-global-ic-tw-social-global-ic-tw-villains-interview-img-site-ramp&cid=25047&ts=1408141444007 …

Stress is really rough on the entirety of a persons system, physical, mental and emotional. Even when the stress is from doing something you love, it still takes it's toll! Everyone deserves ways to mitigate the grind. Thanks for chilling with us as a small way to unwind!!

Ditto x a million. My husband and I own a media business and it is so rewarding when a client appreciates all the time, effort and energy we put into something they hopefully find rewarding and enjoyable. Positive interactions with clients really help alleviate the sometimes almost soul crushing stress. Cathartic is the perfect word to describe it.
You guys and gals do beautiful, incredible, meaningful work. I can't express how much I love these games and I deeply appreciate all the blood, sweat and tears.

Q: What makes a good RPG hands-on demo at a trade show? Story, combat, exploration, etc - what's most impactful? How much time is essential?

@Mike_Laidlaw Real time as in it will complete even if the game is off, or is it real time as in it takes that amount of play time?
The former.

Interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about it so I'll wait til I see the functionality in-game.
To be honest, it makes more sense than the "X amount of missions completed" check that Mass Effect employed. It also creates better immersion in the form of keeping the inquisition alive despite you being offline while simultaneously providing more "realistic" time frames for time progression. You can spend 4 hours collecting elfroot or plundering caves and the mission will complete. You don't have to advance the story somehow to move forward in this regard.
It's quite nice tbh.

I wonder if the timed missions are like the ones in AC: Brotherhood where there are people who you recruit, but rarely see and they only exist to do the Inquisitors dirty work (or clean if you prefer)

I hope the in-game clock keeps ticking even when I'm not playing. I can see myself starting the longer quests right before I gotta leave, and then go back to the game after a day at work, sleeping, having dinner or such. I just hope that very few, if any of these quests are as long or longer than two hours. I think that's where the line has to be drawn for what's acceptable in a game such as DA:I. Otherwise it'll become a chore to make a completionist run, and that will do nothing but hurt this game.

Most likely, at least a few, like we already know one war table mission goes to Nevar (spelled wrong I think) but we never actually go there ourselves

Most, but not all, of the tweets from BioWare developers seem to come from the writers, who are finished with their jobs (as far as actually developing DAI is concerned). I don't see what the problem is.
Proper lol as I look around at a full writer pit hard at it. In addition to bug fixing small to medium stuff so the tech wizards elsewhere can work on more important fires, we're testing the hell out of this beast. "Writing" for games is a lot more than writing, and it's right through to the finish line. And really, "X for games is a lot more than X" can pretty much be applied to every department.

Well I watched this french video.. Well the french guy said that the game was very easy and none of them had to use the tactical view. They asked the dev if the demo was on easy but they were playing on normal. They were also 1-2 level higher then most monster for the demo.
It's had a very ''action'' RPG vibe to it. He also was playing on a gamepad( Playing a PC demo) and he don't really enjoyed the inventory and went about how more he enjoy the common grid inventory that PC gamer are accustomed to have. So the inventory felt very ''consoly'' to him. He went about how the game look great though and mentionned that if you want a challenge/use the tactical view you should start playing on hard difficulty if nothing change when the game is released.
He felt that the combat seem to be more oriented toward action rather than strategy.
Well that about it.
.. He also added the game is well realized.

After playing DAO and DA2 on nightmare several times over, the normal difficulty was never on the cards for Inquisition. I believe the fact the the enemies do not scale may be the main difficulty factor for the game when it comes to combat in general.

He's talking about the aesthetics of the game.
And the comments range from "No new Dragon Age game will ever surpass DA:O" to "EA ruined BioWare" with "I call BS on the reporter's affirmations" in between. The usual.

Makes me more curious than ever too see the inside of the writers pit though, im picturing darkspawn taint all over the walls 'like some fleshy creature exploded all over the walls' (or whatever shales line for the circle tower was)

That's....odd. So if I set a mission, turn off my PC and go to sleep, the mission is done when I wake up?
I'm sure they have a good reason, but for the moment I'm at a loss.
Any speculation?
