That's....odd. So if I set a mission, turn off my PC and go to sleep, the mission is done when I wake up?

I'm sure they have a good reason, but for the moment I'm at a loss.

Any speculation?

There's a thread where we've been discussing this here. My theory is that these missions aren't plot important, but are actually for resource gathering. So the time limit exists to limit power gaming and grinding.

Well I watched this french video.. Well the french guy said that the game was very easy and none of them had to use the tactical view. They asked the dev if the demo was on easy but they were playing on normal. They were also 1-2 level higher then most monster for the demo.

It's had a very ''action'' RPG vibe to it. He also was playing on a gamepad( Playing a PC demo) and he don't really enjoyed the inventory and went about how more he enjoy the common grid inventory that PC gamer are accustomed to have. So the inventory felt very ''consoly'' to him. He went about how the game look great though and mentionned that if you want a challenge/use the tactical view you should start playing on hard difficulty if nothing change when the game is released.

He felt that the combat seem to be more oriented toward action rather than strategy.

Well that about it.

.. He also added the game is well realized.

While this doesn't bother me personally (I usually play on casual), I am wary of the anti-BioWare crowd who are just going to use this as yet another excuse to bleat about how the franchise is not a true RPG/will get stomped on by Witcher/Bio has been taken over by literally Hitler.

I'd just say Dragon Age and The Witcher are "modern" RPG in terms of mechanics and gameplay while other games like Divinity : Original Sin, Wasteland 2 or Pillars of Eternity try to stick to / revive the old-school feeling of computer RPGs.

I enjoy both so it's perfect for me. What I don't find logical is people trying to imply that RPGs can and should only be played the way they like, be it action oriented or super-tactical-turn-based oriented.

Proper lol as I look around at a full writer pit hard at it. In addition to bug fixing small to medium stuff so the tech wizards elsewhere can work on more important fires, we're testing the hell out of this beast. "Writing" for games is a lot more than writing, and it's right through to the finish line. And really, "X for games is a lot more than X" can pretty much be applied to every department.

Awesome! One of the writers responded to a comment of mine :) Unfortunately, my comment makes me look ignorant  :D

I think what I meant to say is that there is nothing wrong with you all at BioWare engaging in social media this late in development, in response to someone else's comment. I was trying to think of a decent rationale (when one wasn't really necessary) and the one I offered up was the first thing that popped into my mind  ^_^

I'm a PC gamer, but I don't understand the obsession with grid-based inventories. I much prefer a nice list over having a cluster**** of items that I have to go through. Divinity: OS's grid inventory is so hard for me to keep organized, and I detest the one in Mount & Blade. I think DA:O's inventory was perfect. Everything in a list, with a simple icon next to the items, items sorted by type in the list, and tabs to only see certain types of items.

As for Skyrim's inventory list, the main problem I had with it was it doesn't properly track where your cursor is, and you could potentially click the wrong stuff because of it. Otherwise I didn't think it was that bad.

Bioware have always had pretty decent to very good PC UI so I personally am not too worried about it. As for the inventory from the gameplay shown it really doesnt look that different to how both the previous titles operated (i.e scroll/slot based inventory), so not really understanding the worry...

Could be that they just made sure the demo inquisitor was over-leveled for the area they got to play, so no one kept dying without getting to see the gameplay.

Taking some time to interact with fans that are excited and supportive is literally a cathartic event that helps me deal with stress of being super busy.

truth is, it goes both ways, you know.  life..whew..it gets crazy sometimes. it's not easy. you get weary. but there are many times when i--personally--can log in here, and the devs, and the fans, make me Smile. And sometimes literally lol!

that's medicine.

as is the creative work you all are going to share with us. that, too, can be medicine.

These missions keep going even if you turn the game off? Hm, I think that's alright with me. They sound like optional bonus things that you can trigger right before you turn the game off for a break or something. I wonder if they can sometimes have other results like Leliana getting captured and having to rescue her instead of being auto-completed after the time passes?

I think the writers are who most of the fan tweets are addressed at too, since that seems to be where the majority of forumite interest is - plots and stories of our games

As a programmer I would be fascinated by how the build the algorithms and structures of the various systems being developed for Inquisition. Like what's the O-notation of your world builder system?! :D
