Have we ever used the trigger controls before in a DA game?
I really don't remember tbh.

Lazy Gamer had a very positive review of DAI's demo.

Wow that was definitely high praise. The hype train just keeps on rolling.
The Xbox 360 version of DA2 required you to press a button to attack while the PC version had autoattacks. I"m not sure if it will be the same setup for DAI.
Didn't they change that in a patch?

I never played the XBOX version. I know the PC version had autoattacks out of the box.

Oh, yeah. The PS3 version required a button press as well, come to think of it. Which, again, I was grateful for. I prefer that style. Of course, my thumb got a little tired with that game...

I guess I should've said console version. As a PC gamer, I tend to lump the systems together.
So, unlike previous titles, there are no auto-attacks in DA:I?
Autoattacks are back in for every version, supposedly.

Well, either way, yeah.

Ack, I hope there's an option.

I can remember there being an option in the menu to switch to auto attack
Ack, I hope there's an option.
I should say, I think it's an option, yeah.
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw
Consoles should support both auto-attack and manual press. Also, Tactical view is always auto-attack

Ahh, alright. Nifty.
Given that I played DA2 in February 2014, I imagine there was very likely an option I never even noticed re: switching to autoattack, then, too.
Importing saves into the Keep looks finally dead and buried:
@user You cannot import saves into the Keep, which makes for a smoother transition for all even if you played DA on different platforms.
The import option's been dead & buried for many a moon now... ![]()

Well, that was fast. How about the PC version?

I know, right. There's always something oddly self-satisfying about the possibility that a dev noticed something I randomly mused over and decided to take to the twitter feed to address it. This topic rocks.
I am pretty sure they took away the option to press to attack on one of them, cant remember which.
User
Will the PC version of DAI feature Auto Attack and Hit per click options ? Will there more loot in terms of armour (like DAO)
We'll be doing some deeper dives into combat later this year, before launch.

EDIT: QUICK HIDE ALL THE MESS
There ain't a carpet big enough to hide this mess! ![]()
But take a deep breath gang... these were older tweets from Mr. Laidlaw.

I know on Xbox I only had to press A to attack and Hawke continued to attack until an enemy fell. At the sight of an enemy, the weapons were automatically drawn, but I don't know if auto-attack was patched because I usually rush the enemies as soon as I see them. I honestly don't know how I never fall in battle with all that recklessness. I prefer it that way though, keeps the PC from rushing head long into traps and such.
