Will you stop that? Please? If that was a joke (which I initially assumed), it's getting stale. And if it's not and you're on some kind of crusade, please take it elsewhere. All i see under developers is BaldWare/Edge of Reality,Evil Aliens just hop inside for the money and reputation boost.

It seems you are unaware of what a publisher does. EA are funding Bioware. They are giving them money so that they can continue to make games. Self-publishing costs way more than having a dedicated publisher like EA. I'm not going to be dramatic and say that Bioware wouldn't exist without EA, as they probably would, just working with another publisher. I will however say that without EA, Dragon Age Inquisition would not exist, as they have funded that games development from the start. No money, no Dragon Age. Maybe another publisher would have funded it. Fact is, EA are. In return, EA gets a cut from the profits, as they have to make money back as well.

Sounds like the difference between Vashoth and Tal-Vashoth is more complicated than we realized.
I think what Gaider was on about is that to anyone outside the Qun any kossith will be considered Qunari because they don't understand the intricate classification system of the Qun. However, to the Qunari a Tal-Vashoth is a kossith that abandoned the Qun. A Vashoth is a kossith that was born outside the Qun and has not been enlightened.
Edit: Basically he's saying the terminalogy doesn't matter so much because we [the players] aren't of the Qun.

oh.
so, if you're a Templar, people won't address you as such?
They said that there may be instances where you specialization comes up, but it won't be in the standard day-to-day routines.

They have also said that the term 'kossith' is both extremely outdated and completely irrelevant as a race descriptor as literally no-one uses it, not Qunari, not humans, elves, dwarves, or whatever. It will not be used in-game at all.
It is no more correct than calling Italy the Roman Empire is.

What is "Kossith"?
The horn-headed species that largely follow the Qun.
Technically Qunari is just a follower of the Qun, so elves, humans, and dwarves can all be Qunari.

Reminds me of that exchange in Mark of the Assassin
Hawke: More Qunari!
Tallis: Tal-Vashoth!
Hawke: You know what I mean!

And it's not like we'll be encountering any Qunari, so being clear on what we're talking about wouldn't be of any benefit whatsoever.

Then be like 'Most people in universe are unclear as to the difference, and don't have the benefit of being able to ask thier friendly nieghboorhood Qunari, so we're using the terms most Thedasians would use. now leave me alone so i can go back to thinking Fenris was a multi-dimensional character.'
Ok, the last bit was a cheap shot, i appologize Mr. Gaider, please let me into the Keep.

Example was given you would not know someone was a tempest or artificer just because they look a certain way but rather by how they act. So more likely if you become a Templar And act like a Templar people will treat you as such. For ill or good.

Trying to be as polite to someone who has a habit of making me want to give him a right smack upside the head as possible, the key point is his response dismissed it as irreleveant, when a better explenation is that for many, it's unclear, if they even know of it.

Here i thought Dragon Age doesn't go backwards like Assassin's Creed, you know somewhere around -410 Ancient, just sayin'..
I wouldn't mind going way back into DA's past. I'd love to play through events during the first blight. At that time one of the biggest antagonists in the series was almost completely unknown. No Grey Wardens... Huge upheaval and drama during that time. Also, I would love to see Dwarven society before they lost all but 2 of their major cities.
Even better would be playing through events leading up to the Golden City being corrupted.

Yes, but if I can headcanon a justification for that, I should be allowed to do so.The facial tattoos are a part of Dalish culture. IIRC getting them is a rite of passage when they reach adulthood

That makes sense. They've already committed to using the non-Qun definition of Qunari. Insisting on the fine Qunari distinction between Vashoth and Tal-Vashoth would be inconsistent.David Gaider on Tal-Vashoth vs Vashoth...

'You can use HEADCANNON to justify almost anything. That's its power ... and its flaw.'- More or less Capt. Janeway
You can come up with any number of bizarre and rediculous (not implying yours is) situations and justify them with a sufficently large improability drive. The default game (because there will be mods of some level, the Bioware fan base leaves me with no doubt) needs to be 100% lore-friendly, and the lore says adlish have Vallasin, you play Dalish they have Vallasin.

Had Captain Janeway been given an opportunity to use headcanon (or indeed headcannon) in an unaired episode of Voyager, my then-12-year-old self would have written passionately to UPN about the desire for an eighth season of the series.

I could see a dialogue choice scene regarding this issue
NPC: So...you're a tal-vashoth?
Quinsitor: No.
NPC: But you're also not qunari?
Quinsitor: Correct.
NPC: I'm confused.
Quinsitor: Good.
IB: Dwarf
Varric: Kossith
IB: We don't use that word anymore, I'm surprised you even know of it.
Varric: *smirk* I'm bringing it back
