Yes, the Qunari are rather frustrating to deal with. This is likely why they needed Rivini help to negotiate a peace treated because maker knows no one would understand a Qunari diplomat.

They fascinate me though, I wish the study of fictitious cultures was a real field because I'd totally make it my life's work  :P

I used kossith to mean the origin race to make things less confusing. I believe Bas is used to classify those not of the Qun of the other races. They are a very frustrating people, nothing is ever simple with them, is it?

Depends, it's simplicity that comes the long way round, you say look, in the sky a bird!
The qunari say In the lower toposphere a Geranoaetus albicaudatus (white tailed hawk)
Technically, thies is more exact, and less likely to create confusion... if you happen to memorize taxonomy in your spare time.

1. Become a fellow anthropology major like yours truly (and BabyFratelli, and several others on BSN!)

2. Pretend the world around you is one big falsehood (it'll help with some of the facepalms as an added bonus!)

3. Voila!

:P

It was better than using "horn-head" or "oxmen" though  ;)

Capitalize Qunari for followers of the Qun.

Don't capitalize it for the, uh, "race".

Actually everything is extremely simple with them: There is the right way, as the Qun demands. Everything else is the wrong way.

The problem is if you're talking to them, chances are you're doing it wrong.

I soooo want some "dwarf noble and Gorim" style dialog choices, you know the ones. ;)

Inquisitor: Josephine, why is this man talking to me?

Inquisitor: Josephine, tell this... creature that he may leave the premises

Inquisitor: Leliana....kill them.

Inquisitor: I do look dashing, do I not Cullen? Cullen, tell me I look dashing

Cullen: *sigh*

Isn't that technically part of David Gaider's job description?

Maybe Video Game Writer is the job for you... ;)

I've been considering going back to school to major in history (Regency, Victorian and Medieval western Europe are obsessions of mine). I am however an aspiring author and do research constantly like I'm cramming for a final that's non-existent. Oh, and I already pretend the world is one big falsehood  :P

The whole expanse of the created cultures in DA inspired me to create an entire world for a series. Which is a constant work in progress (religions alone are complicated things).

Level designer........also was a level designer for ME3 and worked on ME MP maps a fair bit....I'll predict that Pax is going to be the big announcement later in August and it will be MP.

Jos is currently working on the next ME game, too.

David Gaider clarifies the purpose of his Tumblr blog to a rather rude questioner... <_<

http://tmblr.co/ZIsNnt1Om1X4Q

I was actually laughing out loud when I read that. There is something childlike about that rude way to adress Mr. Gaider and the complete lack of social antennae that I found humorous. I could visualize that comming from some angry 6 year old with a tone filled equally with anger and sadness.

Maybe Im just reading too much into things :P

I looked into that a while back. Coincidentally, I found this written by the great man himself.

Go figure: I'm doing the same thing. I've been working on a similar project (space operatic, in this case) off and on for... an alarmingly long time. I actually have the first book about as "finished" as it can be at this time, but I'm constantly expanding the lore and potentialities.

Best of luck to you!

Hmmm new type of infestation?  :D

There is a Sardinian cheese called Casu marzu which is notable for containing live insect larvae.

That would liven up the market districts of Orlais...

I originally learned of Casu marzu in... the Mass Effect 3 twitter thread. Strange how such a thing has come full circle.

Going to go ahead and remind the community ahead of time: don't post pictures of it.
