I imagine most Orlesians would eat anything if you convinced them it was fashionable.

I smell a scam coming up.....

I think the Orlesians would consider Capt. Slow a living breathing faux pas.

I suspect that they'd eat whatever their culture considers normal to eat, which would not exactly be what we consider normal to eat.

An aside: chinese students respond to typical American foods.

I originally learned of Casu marzu in... the Mass Effect 3 twitter thread. Strange how such a thing has come full circle.

Going to go ahead and remind the community ahead of time: don't post pictures of it.

I learned about it in a GRE reading class.

I wish I hadn't.

If choose elf as my race can I remove my dalish tattoos?

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw

No, but you can make them pretty faint.

Well that's disheartening.

I find this authentic and a good decision to be honest.

I do tend to go for the faint 'accent' tattoo, rather than the full-face.

This is wonderful. I actually live with three Chinese foreign exchange students here in the USF area of the USA, and it's been a blast hearing their reactions to various local foods.

Why? If a player wants to be lore-friendly, he can give his character the tattoos.

What benefit is there in forcing everyone to do it?

And that's my last comment on the matter in the Twitter thread.

They aren't forcing it, you're playing as a Dalish Elf

And it allows the game to be more reactive to who you are. Companions and other NPCs can ask you about your Vassalin because you'll have them no matter what. I understand that its no fun when your headcanon gets shot down, but that's kinda the nature of the game. Like, you can headcanon all you want that your Dalish mage actually grew up in an Alienage, but when random elf # 4 asks you "What's it like to not grow up in an alienage." you'll either have to ignore her or you're SOL. (Though, for all I know it's possible that you did grow up in an Alienage...just sayin, can't rely on your headcanon.)

1. Become a fellow anthropology major like yours truly (and BabyFratelli, and several others on BSN!)

2. Pretend the world around you is one big falsehood (it'll help with some of the facepalms as an added bonus!)

3. Voila!

:P

More Anth peeps? Nice! About to start work on a Masters in Medical Anthropology.

I've been considering going back to school to major in history (Regency, Victorian and Medieval western Europe are obsessions of mine). I am however an aspiring author and do research constantly like I'm cramming for a final that's non-existent. Oh, and I already pretend the world is one big falsehood  :P

The whole expanse of the created cultures in DA inspired me to create an entire world for a series. Which is a constant work in progress (religions alone are complicated things).

Also an aspiring author. I've independently published one book (zombie/horror), and as soon as I finish moving and the semester starts, I'll be able to get back to writing. Good luck with your book!

My mentor just got her Masters in Medical Anth. Rock on with that -- and the book! Seems we've all got a couple of things in common, here.

Thanks! I think I need the most luck on finishing up the world it takes place in.

Ah, the joys of looking at year-old content. Half the time 'it works' is meant as an expression of disbelief.

I have a question, will rogues and mages get a weaker melee attack like they did in DA2?

From Texas, but never had grits. My blood is made of sweet tea, however.
