6-10 weeks, in terms of game development, Gold certification, manufacturing, distribution and marketing, qualifies as the moniker "mere." Considering DA3 is angling for right around a 2 1/2 - 3 year time frame (130 - 156 weeks), 6-10 weeks is a blink of an eye.

Probably, I was thinking more along the lines of June-August at the latest and MAYBE the very start of September. But later than that is unlikely. I still think we'll at least see something in May or June. After all Laidlaw has said they'd like to show something sooner rather than later when asked about E3.BasilKarlo wrote...
Considering about 40% of DA]['s sales came from pre-orders it seems extremely unlikely that they would be willing to have such a brief pre-order period. A reveal after August 21st and a release in calendar 2013 is exceedingly unlikely, especially given the fact that developers always aim to have their games on the shelf on Black Friday. A reveal in September and a release in November? Not a chance IMO.

Gaider have a weakness to snow! Does that make him a snowpire?
I like the Inquisition symbol, but I'm really wondering why there is a red iris in the eye. It gives me "Eye of Sauron" impression. hmm.
The iris being blood? Not a bad idea, but it's at a weird place to indicate blood shed. It's right in the middle attracting all the attention of the viewer to the eye...
The sword represent mercy (Hessarian killed Andraste with a sword to put her out of her misery of burning alive).
I don't remember if the meaning of the "sun" was ever explained somewhere, beside the fact that light and fire are big themes of the Chantry because Andraste was burned alive and light seems related to the Maker as well (maybe that is in World of Thedas?).
There is an "aura" behind the sun as well. Might not mean anything and it's just there to look pretty.
I always took the eye as meaning "we are watching/the Maker is watching" on the Seekers of Truth. But here it looks sleepy or it just opened itself.
As you can see, I'm really bored...

Red in the middle of the eye could mean the views of the chantry are causing bloodshed and they view their bloodshed as mercy and the sun can maybe represent that they think they are enlightening people. Who knows? Guess it's just left to the imagination for now.azarhal wrote...

Interesting to note that the eye isn't red in the old Inquisition symbol, it's just empty/black.
I thought a while ago that it could mean the new organisation is different, or trying to differentiate itself, from the historical Inquisition.

The Inquisition was the original organisation, so it's more accurate to say that the Seeker symbol is just the Inquisition symbol minus the sword.
When the Inquisition was disbanded and the members joined the Chantry officially as the Templars/Seekers (based on that accord that Lambert tore up), the two new organisations presumably took pieces of the old Inquisition's insignia as their own.
It's a bit contrived, but the Inquisition symbol has a connection with the Seekers/Templars because it literally was the organisation that preceeded them.

Yes, we realize, but like ElitePinecone said the original symbol doesn't have red. We're just discussing/speculating whether or not that means something.Conduit0 wrote...

It was in the art asset files for DA2, I'm not sure it was ever actually used.

Here's the DA3 team t-shirts:

In the Dawn of the Seeker making of vid, the devs talk about Cassandra's design in DA2, and that the Seeker logo is the Chantry logo (the sun) plus the eye to have the literal meaning: "the Chantry seeking the truth." From the game's heraldry files, the sun is supposed to be the symbol of the Maker.azarhal wrote...

My suspicion, of course, is that the Inquisition logo was in actuality designed after the seeker and templar ones, as a combo. But, I do wonder if it's supposed to be the historical Inquisition logo, or a new fangledy version desgined by the "new" Inquisition.

Actually, I don't think there are proper nation borders.
Borders like we know them nowadays are a relatively late invention. In medieval societes (like medieval Europe) the borders were, where you could send your troops in case of conflict. And that could depend and change relatively quickly. Sometimes you had natural borders like oceans, rivers or mountains, but on open land borders were simply not defined. So this map with it's inaccuracies is actually pretty accurate.
