Are we seriously going to clog up the twitter thread with discussions of food again?
You're right, fill it with negativity instead!

Lol, did the dragon follow him into the fort?
Actually, those posts are in the wrong order... and I think Carson was looking to crawl into that blanket fort. ![]()

I have a question, will rogues and mages get a weaker melee attack like they did in DA2?
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw
No.
Derek French @bio_derek
OMG! I just got stuck in a loop Following folks related to #Firefly #avengers #XMen & #Chuck ! #DAI release delayed 20 mins because of this.
what do they mean by "weaker melee attack?"
In DA2, if you got close into melee range, an archer rogue would stop shooting and pull out a dagger. For a mage, they would start hitting their target with a staff.
Varric had a unique animation where a retractable bayonet would pop out of Bianca and he'd start stabbing away.
That may have been made obsolete now that rogues can switch to double daggers.

Yeah, and in the gameplay video you can see the mage will continue to blast their target - even at point-blank range.

I'm more slightly disappointed that the mage autoattack with the hand is no longer a thing.
Although, a bow rogue not pulling out a knife on enemies that get too close is also slightly disappointing.
On a side note:
Only 10 more pages until Allan's prediction for this thread is fulfilled.
That man's got some talent... ![]()

I just pictured a mage Inquisitor back handing a bandit with a fireball. ![]()
I hadn't gotten a chance to see it at all yet, so thanks. The Inquisitor's hair in that cut scene was pretty cool...might need to use that one for one of my playthroughs.
Rogues can EQUIP double daggers, certainly, including NPCs that by default start with bow (or vice versa). But can they actually be switched like DAO? Pre-arranged 'stances', toggle freely between them in mid-combat?
I liked being able to use the staff as a melee weapon in DA2. It's the closest to using things like lances, halberds, etc as we're ever going to get.
Have had a few of these Q's now so I'll say just this (personal thoughts, no official stance on this stuff)... (1/4)
Yes, aware of Keep leaks. Disappointed, esp fans or sites that know better but continue to share leaks... or profit in cases. (2/4)
But mostly, I'm disappointed we couldn't create the first impression we wanted to for fans who really do care but were spoiled. (3/4)
Having said that, most responses to the Keep seem positive so that's good. And we still have a lot of surprises left

I hope the leaker gets spanked with their NDA. So thoughtless. I feel bad for the developers whose hard work has been disrespected and for us fans who were not only spoiled but likely have less chance of being invited into the beta.
It's sad that it got leaked, but on the plus side everyone that has looked at it seems to have nothing but good things to say about it! So silver lining I guess?
Super disappointed we don't get melee attacks with archers and mages. What archer would still try and shoot an arrow at someone 2 ft away? It felt much more natural to whack the crap out of them with their bow and dagger.
I didn't know about the leak until it was already hushed up. Glad about that. As antsy as I'm getting, I can wait....hopefully without exploding (or annoying my friends and family with constantly talking about the game).
