Percentages scale whereas static bonuses do not.

In the case of humans sure they get 1 extra point right off the bat, but when you're overloaded with points by end game, you've pretty much gotten everything you've wanted anyway.

Lets say everyone else starts out at 100HP at level one (just an example), well the Qunari racial is amazing, that's a 50% increase in health! Now lets imagine we all have ~2000 hp by end game. 50 HP is now a measly 2.5% extra health.

Meanwhile, 25% magic reduction is just as good at level one as it is at max level. Additionally, as damage from enemies increases, 25% less magic damage will reach a  tipping point where it will reduce more than 50 damage, and thus be worth more than 50 HP.

Currently, the Elven bonus does not seem that appealing, but other racial perks appear useful; will wait to see after gameplay (or reading the Wiki explanation).

The Elder One is probably one of the Elder Gods, the ones who sealed Cthulhu in his underwater prison.

We aren't sure where that name comes from, but in the wise words of The Slayer herself

Buffy: And you're sure this isn't a fan boy thing? Cause I've fought more than a couple pimply overweight vamps that called themselves Lestat.

I feel for the guy, but I think they really have no one else to blame other than themselves on botching the unveiling.

It doesn't have anything to do with what's happened. It certainly doesn't justify it, and saying "They really have no one else to blame" is just wrong on all accounts, plain and simple.

Doubtful. That is like asking how many DA games there are going to be before BioWare decides or gamers decide there have been enough DA games. Nobody can predict the future.

But still- we know much about Thedas from WOTA 1 and there will be more info in Volume 2.

And if there are another two games following Inquisition then the world will likely have changed rather considerably once again, dictating potential sales in a third volume. Or the franchise turns into a long-running Showtime television show and gets a completely different type of companion book by the year. Or Inquisition kind of tanks and BioWare seeks "new creative opportunities" and there's never another volume because nothing else ever happens.

It could go in plenty of unforeseen directions, as with most business matters, so I kinda doubt we'd get a straight-up answer!

AusGamers interviews Cameron Lee...

http://www.ausgamers...es/read/3466136

Good read... here's one of the tidbits:

AusGamers: You’ve got the party system, and you’ve got the tactical mode where you can freeze time and get your party members to do things, in my mind, it lends itself really easily towards co-op. Is that something you have considered for this, or is this a purely single-player-driven experience?

Cameron: We’ve looked at co-op and stuff like that, in the past, and Mass Effect has done amazing stuff with their multiplayer, so we’ve looked at stuff, but at this point, there’s nothing fixed.

AusGamers: Nothing to announce. Okay. When I was watching the demo, I was thinking about how, if I was talking to you about, say, making a first-person shooter, we would be probably taking about things like artificial intelligence, which really doesn’t seem to be a question that people are asking in terms of an action-RPG. How important is AI in Dragon Age?

Cameron: It’s actually really important. It’s amazingly important, because what you’re doing is creating a fantasy world, right. From the ground up, you build this thing. That’s building the characters, that’s building the factions and the cultures and the environments that they live in. So when you look at animal life; how would animals behave? How would foxes react to wolves, then how would wolves react to men? And then there are demons and behemoths and giants and dragons and all these things, so they all have different types of predator and prey behaviours against each other. And then, human AI, in terms of pure combat, that’s actually really important, as well, because you want something that’s believable and reactionary. So if you see an archer and soldier, as enemies, why wouldn’t an archer try and get behind a soldier and have the soldier take point, so the archer can continue to fire arrows. When we’re looking at creating the AI for combat, we do think about all those things. And it takes a long time to get all that sort of stuff right. We had these really interesting bugs where the archers would always try and back up behind cover, but in a massive open-world game, cover is miles away, right. So you’d be chasing these archers all over the place, and so this is why we spend a lot of time on AI, to get it feeling right and balanced and believable, yet still have it be controllable enough to be entertaining. So when you run up against, say, you’ve seen some wolves that have attached some archers, everyone’s behaving realistically, and then you become a third aspect to that combat encounter, everyone doing what they need to be doing.

It's sad that it got leaked, but on the plus side everyone that has looked at it seems to have nothing but good things to say about it! So silver lining I guess?

o.O Allan Schumacher replied to this post but it has disappeared? Weird.

Regardless, don't let it get you down, devs!

Edit: Pffft, I love how in that interview that interviewer basically says 'Oi! The female lead is not wearing a battle bikiny but REASONABLE ARMOR! What's up with that?!' Hahahahah

Okay... WTH Bioware.

Why is it every time I turn around our Inquisition symbol gets even creepier?!

Now we have a blood red eye... with tentacles coming out of it... and a sword.

Seriously... it's like we're the military arm of the Cthulhu Party.

(seriously, is no one else creeped out by this...?)

Best part of the whole thing...

Cameron: We’re doing things quite differently in Inquisition than the previous games, so there are two major aspects to the game, one being the critical-path story, the other being the open area, exploration, and we link those together through the Inquisition. And through the inquisition and that war table… I’m going to sneeze, and it’s just sitting there.

Randomly hilarious.

I think it's the exact opposite of what you say. The Qunari and the Human would always have that bonus over Dwarves and Elves. The Qunari would always have 50 health more than anyone else, Humans would always have an extra ability point. However, one can only have up to 100% of anything. So quite clearly, the others are going to catch up sooner or later.

If max health is similar to DA: O than 50 bonus health is going to be a nice advantage for Qunari mages since mages never got a lot of health. Could be important for a melee mage like Knight Enchanter.

50 health is like putting 10 points extra in constitution. It's quite a nice racial bonus.
