Yeah i also didn't know untill the fangirls annoyed me so much that i googled it,looks like Cullen is a templarswho falls in love with your female mage,forbbiden love,no wonder fangirls want him...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he was romanceable in vanilla (unmodded) mode. There is, however, a mod that gives a cutscene between Cullen and a female mage in Dragon Age: Origins.

In Dragon Age II Cullen has become Knight-Captain in Kirkwall and yes, he is still fearful of mages. Uldred must have really messed with Cullen's head in DA:O!

Ahh but he relieves Meredith of command and helps you fight her. Then lets Hawke and her friends leave. And he is cute as a button. Cullen is a must for LI!

Cullen is a kickass character. He was a very bright spot in DA2. I can see him being the Garrus of DA3.

Garrus is space Batman.  I liked Cullen a lot in DA2 for providing a rare voice of sanity, but he's got a long way to go until he reaches Garrus levels of awesome 

Though I do want him in DA3, if only to see how non-crazy people handle the templar/mage thing.  He's been through both sides--possession and creepiness from the mages, insane fanaticism from the templars.  He'd be an excellent plot vehicle for exploring the conflict,

In the PAX interview bit they suggested they'd bring the player "campsite" feature back, only the guy in charge (forgot his name) made a big point of suggesting it would be a lot lot better than DA:O.

Could be the Helmsdeep Batcave is the Inquistor's port of call for upgrades, customisation and maybe even party dialouge and plot progression?
