I think we will see the Frostback mountain between Orlais and Ferelden...
There's a tribe there , can't remember if it's avaars or something else.
Anyway the DA team worked on barbarians tribes in the past , the barbarian origin was left behind for DA:O...and there's a pretty cool barbarian guy (with a dog ) in the Calling book.

We also stumble upon some of their mythology...with the lady of the sky and Mountain father something.

zomg, Kell ap Morgan! Outside of Duncan, Kell was my favorite character in The Calling:wub: His story in the Fade where you see what events preceeded his joining the Wardens :crying:; the way he covers Duncan, Maric and Fiona as they flee. :crying: HAFTER. I... may have named all of my dogs in DA "Hafter" after reading The Calling:blush:

Er... /random fangirling. :D

More to the point: The RPG books mention the Avvari and have Barbarian classes to play and the backstory there intriuges me. I'd love to see more of human cultures not swayed/reigned in by the Chantry/Circle/Magisters/etc.

I think you can have his bow in a DA2 armor pack ,shygravel.
And yes , Kell was hot ( some book character are just hot.I thought Loghain was hot in the stolen Throne.Gaider has a thing for writing sexy lonewolf silent guy...)
Oh it just remind me of the scene when he kick his puppy , just before he sacrifice himself.:s

Anyway there's a few artwork where you could see some houses made of dirt and people dressed kind of barbarian style...
So it really wouldn't surprise me if we met some barbarians in da3.

^ Totally agreed. :D

Yesssssss. :crying::crying::crying: That's the only part of the three DA books that made me tear up a little.

I sincerely hope so! The Avvari have an intriguing history and lifestyle. In The Calling they reminded me of... mountain vikings. If that makes any sense.
I may be in a distinct minority, but I am a little bummed/meh about rumours/speculation/indication that a good portion of DA3 may take place in Orlais. I'm far more interested in other as-yet-unexplored nations of Thedas than I am interested in the Orleasians. I hope to be pleasantly surprised! And if I at least get good nuggets of information/interaction with new/little-explored nations/nationals that'll be awesome.

Thanks guys, I'm halfway through The Calling but it's good to be emotionally prepared I guess. Kidding aside though;

Remember awhile back when someone said "I bet this thread makes 100 pages before any news is revealed"

...that was optimistic. Just ignore me though, I'm suffering Dragon Age withdrawals.

My World of Thedas lore book arrived today, there's some interesting little DA3 hints in there. Nothing spoiler worthy, but definitely helpful.

Awesome, hello new wallpaper!!! But i'd also love to see a map like this with the proper nation borders drawn

Actually, I don't think there are proper nation borders.
Borders like we know them nowadays are a relatively late invention. In medieval societes (like medieval Europe) the borders were, where you could send your troops in case of conflict. And that could depend and change relatively quickly.  Sometimes you had natural borders like oceans, rivers or mountains, but on open land borders were simply not defined. So this map with it's inaccuracies is actually pretty accurate.:)

/smartass mode

well okay, maybe proper borders was a bad choice of words, i guess relative is better put, or atleast which city belongs to which nation

Aww, while it's pretty, it's no more detailed than the one we had before: link

I totally geek out over stuff like maps for fantasy worlds.  Maps showing major roads for example, or detailed city maps would be awesome.  Ah well, maybe next time.

Did you order through the Bioware Store?  Amazon (US, at least) doesn't seem to be sending out the copies ordered through them any earlier than the 23rd.

I'm not sure any of the above statements are possible. Well, at least not in direct conjunction with one another.

I don't give a damn about the Frostbite
I prefer good/solid story and average graphic (DA:O) than great graphic and bad/stupid plot (DA2[the DLC were good] and ME2-3)

Both stories are good but I think Bioware could make DA stories great. I think the DA stories have potential to be great and hopefully DA3 will show us that.

Ehm, a mage Hawke in the City of Chain lives there for like 5 years without the templar knowing/doing a thing
And the first fight is in front of the Gates of Kirkwall..... near the tower..... :o
Anders being there? the whole Amaranthine happens 6 months after the Blight(that endured 1 year), so Act 1 happens in concomitance with the Mother thing...so yeah :pinched:

They're both good stories with their strong points and not so strong points, people are going to like one over the other or both equally, there. The merits and flaws of DA2's story has been discussed to death, don't bring it into the twitter thread.
