I think the romance would feel...off.I'm not sure Solas even has a sex drive considering he hasn't had much interest in socializing in his past (at least that's how I see it),

I think that objection applies equally to Blackwall, though, and he's the only other option. (Well, not the glowing green hand thingy, but the 'mentor character' part.) The options at this point are Vivienne-Solas, Vivienne-Blackwall or Blackwall-Solas, and I think that last combination is wildly unlikely.
