Unless people had any idea what the reveal date would have been (I don't think they do....) it's easy for me to promise something that can't really be validated.

Allan, can you reveal whether the (eventual) DA3 announcement date has been decided for a while? It sounds like something the higher-ups specifically want to focus on in terms of being a big first impression.

Also, is the team aiming for a particular style of reveal (no need to give details ) that needed extra work towards it?

It's not really giving away anything. 

A simple "Yes, we have a date set", "No, we haven't decided yet" or "Sorry, can't say anything" would suffice. I'm just curious. Not sure why they need to be so secretive about something like that. 
It's as if they don't want people to be hyped about their game.

One can only hope that DA3 returns to everything that made DAO and Mass Effect 1 for that matter great. DAO's only real fault was that medieval illustrative visual style we got when everyone was expecting the usage of Unreal Engine 3. The bottom line is a strong narrative and loads and loads and loads of character customization in both weaponry and armor for all party members, unlike ME2 & 3 and DA2. Bioware has a tendency to forget that which made them great when they do sequels.
