I kinda wish this didn't need to be said, but I understand. Twitter is an instant connection to hate and love and it's the ultimate test in dealing with instant raw emotion.

We do not "side" with people. We make content that fits our characters.
About my only belated wish for Varric is that he might be allowed to have that speedy rune for Bianca. It was his idea, after all.
And I can imagine what playing cards with Bioware devs would be like:
