Dragon Age Multi-Player
Yeah I realized that as well after some thinking ![]()
If it didn't affect me at all,I would not have to contribute money (in the form of the retail price) to something I detest.
BS.The mp is not some extra you are charged more for having it part of the package. You have a 200 hour plus game with open exploration, combat and deep character growth , development and story and yet you're say some optional mp is too much to by a game like that?
That's pretty petty.
So you were going to preorder it, until you found out it has a completely separate MP, and now you aren't even though the SP hasn't changed?
Why is that so hard to understand?
They are being a responsible consumer.
I was waiting to hear if MP was in before pre-ordering. Now I know, and I'll wait until after the game comes out to get it, assuming user reviews of the game are good. Perception means a great deal in deciding whether or not to buy a product. If you have a positive perception of, say, MP in DA:I, then this is likely good news. If you perceive MP in DA:I negatively, then it is cause to be wary.
Some will (and probably already have) gone on rants saying no buy! BioWare evil! And other things along those lines.
Not pre-ordering is hardly a lunatic response to something you are unimpressed by.

I was playing ME3 MP two years after the game shipped. We believe co-op MP is fun!

Also, MP served as a fantastic testing ground that made certain our combat was fun and deep.

It is wholly optional, but its inclusion absolutely resulted in a better SP experience.
Having a thick skin isn't relevant at all to what we're discussing. Expect it you say? That sounds an awful lot like complacency from where I'm standing.
You know, we could wait to see if they are actually lying before jumping down their throats, and calling foul?
As for ME3, the dev team for that only ever said that the best possible ending would not be gated off by multiplayer. Many fans interpreted that as meaning the Destroy ending where Shepard survives - but it became apparent that the dev team felt, at the time, that the Synthesis ending was the "best possible ending".
Sooo... DAMP, not DAIMP? I can work with that.
Why is that so hard to understand?

The flaw in the logic is how would mp negatively effect a sp game with 200+ hours of game play and story?
I wonder... will the Advisors talk to us, like Admiral Hackett does in the ME3MP? Specifically Cullen, as the leader of our military forces.

My Coin goes towards products I approve of. I don't approve or like MP. You ought to know petty.

My main thing is if someone didn't know about the game, or was on the fence already then sure fine. But if someone is absolutely loving it and totally going to buy the game due to SP, loving everything they saw, then why would MP which has nothing to do with what they are loving and the main reason they were going to buy the game, affect that?
The flaw in the logic is how would mp negatively effect a sp game with 200+ hours of game play and story?
....you do know that you won´t "convince" them to change their mind right?...if they don´t want to pay for a game that has MP cause they feel it lesses it, they can do that all they want....
My Coin goes towards products I approve of. I don't approve or like MP. You ought to know petty.
And you're technically not paying for the mp, you're paying for the sp, the mp come free with it no extra charge. Try again.

So...kinda like ME3 right?

Considering the multiplayer is free DLC, this point is pretty much moot. Don't like it? Don't download it.
With that kind of approach to gaming you will find yourself without new games to play in the future. No MP at all is going the way of the dodo.My Coin goes towards products I approve of. I don't approve or like MP. You ought to know petty.

[FISTPUMP] Thank you very much! ![]()
Ugh. Now instead of expansions for single player BioWare is just going to release multiplayer maps every week starting November 18th.
I'm not surprised at this news. Just...disappointed. And angry. And bitter. And I feel very very slighted.
Because ME3 had no Single Player DLC...wait.
ahhhh yess!! so excited for DAMP!!
My Coin goes towards products I approve of. I don't approve or like MP. You ought to know petty.
So wait, let me get this straight - you were willing to buy the game when it had SP. The SP hasn't changed but because there is ALSO MP you won't buy it? Wow, that makes gaming purity of essence to a whole new level. Good luck with that.
Ooh, I wasn't expecting that! I thought they would have announced it by now if there was going to be multiplayer. If it's anything like ME3's MP then I approve! I still play ME3's MP from time to time, it's super good.
Man, I wish they'd release an MP demo with like a single map, sort of like how ME3 did it before launch. I'd play the hell out of it to pass the time until DAI comes XD. And I'm really glad it's co-op instead of PvP. That means players will get a chance instead of getting instantly owned by players that have been playing for longer, hahah.
I wonder how many people saying they won't will buy it anyway.
....you do know that you won´t "convince" them to change their mind right?...if they don´t want to pay for a game that has MP cause they feel it lesses it, they can do that all they want....
I'm don't want to change their minds. I want to show them that their logic is ridiculous and them to be ashamed about it.
You know...This...

I have no interest in multiplayer as a personal preference, but I was impressed with how seamlessly they incorporated it into Mass Effect. And it seems they've done another great job of making Dragon Age MP make sense storywise. Since I'm not forced to participate in regards to getting the full SP experience, I have no problem with including it. I'm glad it's available for those who will enjoy playing it.
I wonder how many people saying they won't will buy it anyway.
In fairness, most are saying they won't preorder it now, but still buy it later
I still don't understand that, but it's their money
