I'd rather have a Chevalier origin story. 

I'm curious if there is Chevaliers in the game, if they would treat the female PC differently than the male. If I remember correctly, a orlesian woman from the Denerim market talked about getting harrased by one since they have the right and her brother killed him or something like that. It would be interesting if they treated the character differently and I would gladly kill the evil ones

We tend to try new things from game to game, just because having another character that tells the exact same story would be a bit boring-- the ability of people to squeeze characters into archetypes notwithstanding. Personally, I have zero concern if characters are part of the same broad archetype, especially when some of these archetype lists include characters that tell completely different stories with different tones and which only have the vaguest similarities. That's the nature of archetypes.

Plus, our cast for DA3 is already set. If we've made a new character which is honestly the sort you never ever wanted to see again... well, you are officially SOL.

They've been doing voice acting sessions for a few months, it seems. The companions would've been set when pre-production finished, and it looks like that happened quite a while ago.

Good to hear. Maybe people will finally start talking about who we think is actually in the game this time around as opposed to whining about who they don't want. As all characters are now final it also makes me wonder how far along they are in development.

Looking at the timing of it, I think it was a thread about S/S relationships which he locked after a poster who was, shall we say, rather intransigeant in his views, opined that he would reluctantly just have to accept that Bioware was going to 'pander to minorities'...

I read that quote a few days ago, so I did some digging.  It's actually from this thread.  Although, he did leave an impressive remark in the S/S thread here as well. XD

I really can't wait until the Edmonton con is over.  I'm hoping it gives us something to naw on until next year.  Screencaps and videos would be awesome.
